I was just diagnosed back in the beginning of December 2007 with IC. And now last Monday I found out I also have endometriosis covering both of my ovaries and and area of my uterus and I also have 3 fibroid tumors in my uterus!! I am thinking What now???? :confused:No wonder my lower stomach hurts all the time.
I am also seeing a Gastro Enterologist because I am having trouble with my bowels and they think I either have IBS or that the endometriosis is on my bowels too! I won't know until they run some more tests.I will be glad when all this is finished. I get tired of all the co-pays,dr.visits,prescription costs, testing costs, traveling back and forth all the time.
It must be common to have endometriosis, IBS, and IC all together. I noticed a lot of you have all three conditions.

I'm sorry that you've got more problems! What part of NC are you in? I live in Charlotte. Anyway, it's nice to meet you and welcome to the board!

Yes endo,ic and ibs seem to run together. A couple of my doctors said they are seeing more women with all these diseases and Fibro is another big one they told me.
I hear you about the doctor visits and all the testing. It seems it never ends!!
Take care

Wow, I also have mild endo, mild IBS and now it seems, mild IC! Strange. Could there be ONE autoimmune disease that causes all three?? It just seems too coincidental that so many women suffer from all these chronic conditions. Just goes to show there's so much we don't know!

As I study autoimmune disorders I am coming to believe that they are all linked. Here's an interesting link to an article I posted previously about the leaky gut syndrome. I think there's such a link to what we eat, and some of us are just more sensitive to our environment than others, that's why some succumb to autoimmune and others don't. But eating food that we have allergies to can cause "holes" in our intestinal walls, this then allows larger food molecules in, which our body perceives as foreign, and thus the autoimmune response begins.
