Hi Vicky,
I don't - but my Mom takes between 50mg-100mg for depression.

I am not on that dose...i may get up there though....
I want to try and just take one antidepressant instead of two....:bonk:
Since i was on effexor for depression but then put on elavil for pain and it helps me sleep and it helps the painkillers work so i figure thats a good thing
so i want to try and just have one and since elavil helps make the painkillers work and me sleep then i kinda just want to have that one.....:bunny:
so yeah.....
no real point to my story just saying that i am trying to up my dose to what i need it for the depression too.....except i do find that i have retention problems.......not too too bad though just that when i wake up in the morning my bladder is FULL :toilet:
and it takes a long time to get it out.....
but i will see how it goes.......:loco:
anyway i hope all are doin well
take great care
hugs n better body days

started this time 25mg gained 25# then up to 50mg back down 8#. Now pain md says I would like to increase your dose to 100mg so you can sleep and you are not at depression level till 100mg. OK 75mg I sleep but all doped up the next day that's what the old tricyclics are known for. I think I will hold it at 75mg or maybe go back down to 50mg.
Did your mother gain a lot of weight on 100mg Elavil? Did it help her depression? I just love your wedding picture. VIcky

I dunno if you tried one like nortriptyline.....since some people have said that helps with the side effects since its second generation or something so it has a less sleepy side effect....
just thought to put that out there.....
i haven't noticed any weight gain but of course i am one of those fortunate or unfortunate people who cannot eat....:bonk::loco:
still figuring THAT one out......
great way to lose weight is to get a bad case of gastritis and you lose 25 pounds just like that.....:bonk::bonk::lmao:
sorry.....its an issue i am fighting with the docs about.....they don't take me seriously......:bonk::lmao:
anyway thats what other people said is that nortriptyline has fewer side effects but is a tricyclic so it works the same but just fewer things like weight gain and sleepyness.....
hope that sorta helped....sorry about the venting of my tummy problems....
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr makes one crazy dealing with this and then on top of that other things.....:bonk::loco:
anyway hoping all better bladder and body days soon
hugs
