I left a posting somewhere else but since I hang out here most of the time:hi:...I decided in a fit of depression to get finger printed, fill out my paperwork and get on the substitute list at Evergreen school district (where I worked for 10 years.) Of course, had to have docs ok and he only agreed to 6 days a month, lifting of no more than 15 pounds....which freaked out the sub office but I told them " I taught in special ed classes for 10 years..the subs do not deal with the violent kids, the staff assistants do...(this is true and protocol)" The subs just observe and call for principal/security if need be. But I had to do something. Obviously, it is very little money. Maybe 600-700 a month if I work the full time. (and I'm not really feeling any better..In fact, I'm going to have to have rotator cuff surgery soon) BUT...a little subbing now, a little more next year. Perhaps I can actually get a job after that?
keep your fingers (and legs) crossed for me...That reminds me...How many of you get woken up by dreams that you are trying to find a toilet,,,you find it and it disappears? My husband gets very snarly about that dream.

I think even if not for the money, it will be good for your self!!! Getting back out doing what you are good at doing - regardless of what you make, you might make a difference to some child some day that you may not even be aware of!!! ;)
Usually my horror dreams of that nature involve trying to dial 911 and I can't get the phone to work right or I can't dial the darn numbers right, lol. Thank goodness I haven't had any disappearing toilet dreams, ugh, I'd probably end up wetting the bed somehow!! :biglaugh:

Ha, ha
I've had that phone dream before...The toilet dream is a *&% though because you are sometimes in a pain killing induced sleep and hard to wake up. and for some reason, I can't pee horizontally...I've tried, bedpan and everything after surgreys.(my spelling sucks) Wow...I would get some irate nurses because they'd have to cath me. Now that I Know how easy it is, I wonder why they put me through all that trauma and made me feel guilty about having to cath me.
Anyway, S.S. won't count anything unless I start making SSG employment, then I still have 9 months before they cut me off so as long as I stay under 940 a month I don't have to worry about that...
Here's another bizarre repeating dream my psych loves to analyze...I'm driving on well known portland freeways, or country roads outside of town...suddenly, it's like the stacked freeways have multiplied and I have no idea where in the hell I am and I am stuck driving in circles, helpless. Pretty obvious on that one. It's also always rainy and dark and nasty. If you want to see good Portland weather see the movie "Untraceable", Filmed in Portland and they refer to it being in Portland the entire movie. You can see in the movie there are only a couple spots with stacked freeways.
I couldn't work today because of my SIX THIRTY IN THE FRICKIN MORNING M.R.I. What's up with that? Then they jam my sore shoulder into a brace to hold it steady and, being in an MRI twice before and knowing I hate them, they were kind enough to Sheryl Crow on headphones and to drown out the thump, thump, thump and shut my eyes. But my shoulder hurt so bad it was throbbing by the time we were done.OUCH.Probably nothing, but I injured it 6 weeks ago and it isn't getting any better.
Talk to you all later.

I think it'll be great for you to work even if it is so part time. If you feel that you're up to it than go for it!

Right now I keep falling asleep on the couch. I had my arm MRI'd at 6:30 this morning and I'm very tired. (My Chiro then proceeded to "manipulate the joint") when my chiro manipulates, it's like popping a zit...he fixates on it until he can get it right. but it ain't right. So he says...yep...prob a tear. GRRRRR.
