Is a side effect of Prelief: Ringing or buzzing in ears?

Hello:

I've been taking Prelief for about 4-5 months almost 2 at every meal.

I'm just wondering if anything in Prelief can cause buzzing or ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
I know that many many medicines prescription and over the counter can cause tinnitus and wanted to see if Prelief possibly could.

Has any case studies been done on Prelief to know all of the known side effects that can be caused by taking Prelief? Is there a package insert for Prelief that list any side effects or reactions that can occur?

I don't take any medicine for my bladder. I just follow the ic diet and take a multi-vitamin.

But over the last 5 weeks I've developed a constant buzzing and I'm trying to pin point it where it is coming from?

Prelief is AkPharma's brand name for calcium glycerophosphate, a long-known and safe dietary supplement. Prelief is made from an FDA Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) dietary supplement ingredient and also listed as a food ingredient in the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC).

I DO suspect there's a connection.

I developed tinnitus a few months before I developed IC symptoms (still not officially diagnosed, but I've had an IC-typical flare going on for 6 weeks). My mother has had IC for 40 years, and also has horrid tinnitus.

When my daughter was a toddler, she had chronic ear infections. During the same time, she also had bladder problems -- infections, burning and incontinency. My dad came across a note in a book on Chinese medicine that problems in these two areas often coincide. Chinese doctors apparently have accepted for centuries that the ears and the urinary tract are somehow connected in terms of body energy. We have certainly noticed a connection in my family.

One other thought -- tinnitus can be magnified by stress and lack of sleep, and also salt. I am also beginning to suspect a hormonal connection --both tinnitus and IC symptoms hit me at the same time my periods went premenopausally berzerk.

I agree with everyone here. My symptoms of IC started when I was going through
menopause..I also have allergies, and ear issues with my ic...I think definitely
patients with allergy related problems have some kind of bladder issues...What
do you think??

Just one more thing..I do agree with Donna you need to see a dr. on the ringing
of the ears..That could be something else like inner ear problems..They need
to know what is going on..

There's supposed to be a connection between Amitriptyline and Tinnitus... I've noticed that I seem to have it mildly... whether it's the IC or the Ami I can't say...

I am so glad that I read these posts about the ringing in the ears. I thought I was going crazy. I've had ringing in my ears for weeks. I am going to mention this to my Uro on Monday. . I am on Amitriptyline 25 mg and I take antihistimines like Benadryl for flares. I read that long term use of antihistimines cause ringing in the ears.
Now I know others have the same symptoms..

Wow, that's interesting...I've had ringing in my ears several times in the past few weeks. Thought it was just "something else". Didn't even equate it to some of the meds I'm taking. Will have to mention it to my doc.

I am on demerol & one of the side-effects is tinnitus. Some days are worse than others for me. Check yours out with your doctor it maybe something else.

Don't know if this helps, but I have had different symptoms like trouble breathing and blurred vision and I went for a physical and my nurse practitioner told me that these are symptoms from lack of sleep. She also mentioned that IC can cause eye sight to worsen. Just wonder if the ringing in the ears could be a side effect from lack of sleep also. Deb
