Just after my IC symptoms began this year I find that my lower back hurts when I bend. It is to the point where I can no longer partially bend for more than a minute as my back seems to freeze and hurt intollerably. Bending to the floor is not a problem but this half bend position has become impossible. I have never had this problem before do you think its IC or should I just chalk it up to "getting older"?

My suggestion is to see your doctor. Some of us do get back pain with IC, but it sounds like yours is related to moving, which could definitely be something else. It's not from getting older.

I know mine started hurting all about the same time. I think it has to do with a little of IC and PFD.. And sometimes it's my sciatic nerve acting up..

I had similar symptoms but found total relief with physical therapy.
There are a lot of similar nerve pathways from the lower lumbar spine to the bladder. It could be a muscle problem stemming from that. The muscle in the back that gave me a lot of problems and is notorious for doing so is the quadratus lumborum. If you search the internet you can find some easy stretches and yoga moves that you can try and see if they help.
Also, if you do end up getting some sort of physical therapy, I found a very convenient product that helps me do muscle release work on hard to reach places like my back. It is called "Thera Cane", and if you google it you will find it easily, they also have it on amazon. But I would recommend seeing a PT first.
