we have strep

well a trip to the dr and he was positive for strep. it didn't even take more then 2 min and it showed. so it is bed, tylenol, popsicles and amoxicilin. I am off to see gastro dr today in my quest to figure this out. wish me luck!

That stinks. Strep is not fun. Make sure you take a good probiotic with those antibiotics so you don't get any yeast issues. Yeast can make IC worse.

I'm so sorry you guys have strep. I'm almost positive ours is a virus because my son pretty much shook it off in a few days except for his cough which is lingering. I feel a little bit better today but didn't get off the couch the entire day except to go take a bath and sleep in the hot tub on and off. Good luck with the gastro!

thanks! Shayn is still feeling terrible. he has been eating popsicles all day really no other appetite. on our way to the dr he ASKED if he could have a flu shot!! So I know he is feeling bad! 8yr olds want nothing to do with needles! I will keep him home tomorrow his older brother will do some babysitting.
Well the gastro went ok. I was so ready to walk out. I kept thinking what am I doing here! of course he was running 1hr behind so that really made me think it!
So he is testing my thyroid, checking for celiac-runs in family, and for parasites/infection
but he thinks it is IBS. He gave me a rx for a anti spasmodic. he said IC/IBS common to be together. If i would like colonoscopy he will do but no need to rush into it. so that is fine.
I do feel as though things are falling into place. maybe there is a light at end of tunnel.
next week pain management.
