help shoulder hurts

im in a sling due 2 burstitis. the sack around my shoulder is inflamed. went 2 convenient care last nite. given sling and tylnol 3. they wanted me 2 take anti inflamatory. said no cause of ic. pain real bad now. i was fine most of today. dont know what 2 do. home alone.

I wish I had some advice for ya but I don't know of anything I can suggest since anti inflammatories bother you. Maybe heat or ice will help. I hope you feel better soon.

I know how awful shoulder pain can be. I do think you should call your regular doctor tomorrow. I suggest you ask about taking the arm out of the sling and moving it a little regularly so it won't freeze. I have had frozen shoulder and can guarantee it's no fun!

have them give you cortizone shots.. have that too and get them often, it takes about 3 days to fully kick in but so worth the shots.. they burn going in... I actually had 6 or 7 a couple weeks ago.

thanks yall. iused ice and it helped. tylenol also kicked in. the pain just seems to come out of nowhere and 4 some reason i panick. it almost feels like a charlie horse. im gonna call doc on monday. dont have primary rite now. my work changed ins jan 1 and my old primary isnt on list. guess this is a good time 2 get a new 1.

I've had bursitis in both shoulders (at different times - thank goodness). It is painful. I found the ice helped the most. My doc sent me to a specialist who gave me those cortizone shots, which really did help after a couple of days. I have also had luck with some massage therapy and physical therapy. I learned some stretches that I still do sometimes when my shoulder starts acting up. Of course, both the massage and physical therapy were once the worst of it was over.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I'm glad the Tylenol has helped. Take it as easy as you can.

I hope you start to feel better. :grouphug: I am seeing a doctor tomorrow for my shoulders. I have pain in both my shoulders, its been quite some time now but now when I sleep on one side, I wake up in agony, and I switch to other side and then I wake up in pain again on the other side. I want to find out what it is and I know how bad shoulder pain hurts so I hope you feel better soon. :) Lisa

Im actually on hold right now with my ins co. My work switched at the beginning of the year, and my old primary isnt on their list. The list that this new ins has on line has bogus phone numbers for all the docs in the town i live in.

The pain has actually moved up my neck and is also in my shoulder. Im so wonkey right now from the codein. Ive tried ice this morning. Also drug out hubbys heating pad that has a massage thingy in it. That felt good for a while. Im just frustrated. I wish I could just go see my regular primary. And I hate feeling drugged out and tired. I havent slept well since this started on Friday. I went to work last nigt and left 1.5 hours early. If I dont get any more sleep today, and I get to see a doc, Im gonna see if I can get a note to get out of work tonight just so I can catch up on my sleep. Thank goodness Im salary.

ok. this day has just gotten worse. i called my ins co. there are no docs in town in their network. all the docs that are on their on line list..well the phone number is bogus. im so frustrated!

Now, I have to drive to Champaign to see a doc. I work in Champaign and its a 40 minute drive:rant: I dont mind the drive to work..its part of living in podunk and Im used to it. But every ins that Ive ever had, the docs in my little towns have always been in network. My bf used to work in billing for major healthcare around here. she warned me that my new ins was the worst. i was hoping that she was wrong. nope. she isnt.

Im not working tonight. already called my boss. Jerry and I are going to do our taxes then Im going to TRY to get some sleep tonight. Im sorry Im in a bad mood. This just isnt my day:mad:

Went to the doc. He said I have a pinched nerve in my neck. Sounds like I didnt have to wear the sling after all. :confused:

He told me to keep taking the pain meds when needed and he showed me some stretches to do. Im glad I didnt work tonight. I was so tired driving home. Im getting ready to go to bed here in a few.

I just hope I feel better by this weekend. Im going to Chicago Saturday.:woohoo:
