I have been taking Altace for the past month for high blood pressure. The doctor gave me samples of it and then gave me a prescription for it. Well, I got it filled today and the pharmacy gave me the generic which is Ramipril. I took one this morning and now I have a rash on my arms, legs, face, and chest. I called the pharmacy and they told me to take Benadryl. They were really nice about it and told me to bring in my medication and they will redo the prescription with the brand name. Has anyone else had this kind of reaction? That is so weird to be able to take the brand name with no problem and then to take one dose of the generic and break out.....does anyone know if they make the generics different? I took some Benadryl and it has made me so sleepy. I guess I will be going to bed early tonight!!
