I keep having these involuntary muscle twitches that cause pain in my bladder (and elsewhere).. They are constant, meaning that they occur daily and about every 2-5 minutes. Its like a hard muscle JERK... They are not just confined to the bladder as I feel them in different places all over my body. I was just wondering if anyone else experiences these and what in the world could be causing this???? I cant relax or calm my bladder muscles because every few minutes I am having these "jerks"!!!

I'm not really sure what this could be. It may be time to ask your doctor about them. (((Hugs)))

I would suggest you check into pelvic floor disorder which can cause muscle twitches, jerks, spasms in bladder, urethra, down back of legs. PFD is a very common companion to IC, and almost all ICers have it wheather they know it or not. I would start with a gyno, and ask to be checked for pelvic floor spasms and vulvodynia.

I do suspect that I have PFD; however, these twitches occur all over my body (ie: back, butt cheeks, legs, bladder, etc) so I don't know if I could attribute it all to the PFD. It is very annoying and never lets my bladder relax!

My IC flare up started this time with spasms. It wasn't all over like you have. It was determined that I had PFD which like the others said is common to people with IC. My doc put me on valium 2mg 3 times a day and histomine to get control of the spasms. She also told me to take hot baths 3 times a day.

Hope you feel better soon.

I couldn't begin to guess what might be wrong; I strongly suggest you talk with your doctor.

Warm healing thoughts,
