View Full Version : The continuity of Cystoprotek
Just a question for those of you who have taken/are currently taking Cystoprotek:
Once relief is experienced from taking the supplement, how long does one have to continue to take it? Is it a life-long type thing, or perhaps a maintenance thing?
Did anyone stop taking after feeling symptom relief enough that they felt they could cease treatment, and did the asymptomatic state continue?
Thank you so much for your help!

I took it at least a year. I am now on vegetarian qlucosamine hcl. I am doing great. I come visit every once and a while to check on new IC developments. I think you have to give it time to heal. I hope I never feel the pain I did at first ever again!
Ah, thank you! May I inquire -- why do you take non-shellfish vegetarian glucosamine? (I mean, why such a specific type of it?) And what does the HCL refer to?

In my vast research :smile teeI had read that glucosamine HCL was more potent (who knows?) I was looking for it at the health food store and they had a bottle that was vegetarian so I bought it. I know some people are allergic to fish but I am not I just wanted to try it. I hope this helps.

Here is a site that says sulfate or hydrochloride (hcl) doesn't matter. I just wanted more glucosamine because the cystoprotek seemed like didn't have much.
A shame -- your site got deleted because of legal reasons, I guess.
How long did you have to take Cystoprotek and the extra Glucosamine before you started experiencing significant relief? I know everyone is different, but I still like to cling to some sort of baseline... :smile tee

I just put in the arthritis (SP?) association site nothing illegal. It just talked about different glucosamines and told which ones were not good. I think they said the glucosamines with kcl weren't good and some had table salt added. That is all you can search it. It takes about 4 months at 6 pills a day. It works good on allergies too. I noticed a difference in May when my eyes itch horribly. It is a good product well researched. I just wanted to experiment. If ever I go downhill again I will start back on the elmiron and elavil. This disease is devistating!

I don't take cystoprotek anymore. I take the glucosamine. I am really not bothered anymore with the bladder pain etc. Sometimes I forget to take the glucosamine that is how good I am doing. Yes, I still have IC. Every once and awhile I can feel a hint of my bladder ( which would probably fell normal if I was never diagnosed). I am just not in the horrible burning, pain spasms that I had in the very beginning. Maybe my body has healed. I do think cystoprotek is a good product and If I began to have symptoms again, I would start that again. I never thought I would feel good again. Have hope that your body will heal. Drink the right water and eat green. This is a great sight. I used to sit for hours researching on it. I hope they find a cure to this horrible disease.:)
