I have recently noticed that after sitting for a while at work i get this burning numbing tingling feeling "down there" does anyone else experience this or know what it might be??
also it takes me forever to get myself to pee. I feel like i have stage fright for a while before anything comes out. Is this an IC symptom? Or does anyone know what this could be related to?
Sorry if thats gross but im just trying to figure out my body.
Also I tested my ph in my urine and it said that I was "mildly acidic" Has anyone ever tested themselves for ph levels? Does anyone know a supplement I could take to make myself a bit less acidic?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!

Hi Ashley,
I get a burning/numbing feeling at work sometimes - when I'm sitting for too long with my legs crossed, leaning over my desk. What I've learned is that, for me, its the signal that I'm beginning to get a yeast infection. Oh joy.

Hi , I get the same as well, my therory is it's nerve damage. just like the bladder has nerve dammage from the IC, It all attached. just my 2 cents.

I have always thought that that feeling "down there" is from sitting wrong for too long. Too much pressure on sensitive tissue. Once I realize that things are feeling numb, I remember to change positions. I am not sure if this is IC related because I have done this for more years than I have had IC.
I have had a shy bladder for as long as I can remember. I have a terrible time peeing if I feel rushed because someone is waiting on the other side of the door or if I am not alone in a restroom. I did have retention when I was first diagnosed because of taking Detrol or Ditropan so it was a double whammy.

Sharon, I have a shy bladder as well. If someone walks into our bathroom at work, I have to wait until they leave. I haven't made it passed 1st grade with some things! LOL!
I am so different. I don't have any problems with sitting for long distances (unless I am in a car) and that is just because I hate riding for too long, especially on rough roads. My bladder gets very irritated. But I don't really have issues near the opening "down there...ever". Underwear nor wearing jeans have never bothered me. My main issue is just my bladder and when my uretha used to be messed with. But if you ask my manager, I don't sit still long enough since she says I am the most hyper person she has ever seen "I call it multi-tasking...but really I can't stand to be still for long!". I am constantly on errands, etc. I sit Indian style at my desk all the time, and when I drive, I have my left leg hiked up under me (I know that doesn't sound safe...but I can't stand my legs to hang down for too long). When I am a passenger, I have my legs propped up on the dashboard....drives my hubby crazy!
