I've been having trouble with my stomach---the same ole same ole---nausea, vomiting, nausea, nausea, nausea. I had called the gastro the other day and they told me on a voice mail to stop the bethanacol but stopping it didn't help and I threw up my dinner last night. Tonight I wasn't sure I was going to be able to keep it down but I did. On top of that I've been having major constipation again and know that contributes to the nausea. Just took a double dose of MOM!! If that won't make me go nothing will. My body is SO crazy.
So, I called the office back, said I threw up my dinner last night and need my compazine refilled....called EARLY and she didnt return my phone call!!!!!!!!!!! I love my doc's assistant, she's always been great, but she doesn't seem to understand the severity of this. I NEED nausea meds, I'm OUT of them and told her so. So, who knows what the holdup is, but I need my meds tomorrow even if I have to drive over there and wait to pick up an RX! It won't come to that I'm sure, but that's how rotten I feel.
Bloated like I'm 8 months pregnant, feeling so full after a few bites....just miserable.
So yet again that explains why I've not been around much. I'm just too green and exhausted to sit here much.
That's my update such as it is!

Sandy- I am sorry you are feeling so bad. If there is one thing I hate it is feeling nauseous. I had the worst morning sickness when I was pregnant that I had a lovely green glow! ( i know yours is different cause) I hope they call in your meds soon!
I don't know if this will work for you as temp solution but I use to take benedryl for my AM sickness. The past few weeks my stomach has felt that same nauseous and I finally remembered to take the benedryl and I got thru it.
Anyway take take. Hope you feel better soon!
Sending hugs to you Sandy, yuck, I hate feeling sick like that. I hope you are doing better soon.

Sandy,
So sorry to hear of your sickies. I too have struggled with the nausea aspect. Through the summer, I threw up every day for a month! My internist thought that I had an ulcer and started treating me with Prevacid. Fast forward to today.......
I have figured out on my own, that I don't have any gastro problems. My nausea comes from menopause. Weird huh? My GYN told me that alot of women have this problem when they are menopausal. Not sure if that is what is going on with you or not but it is a thought to consider. Once he upped my hormones, my nausea has been more controlled. I do take Pherergran several times a week and also eat Tums like they are candy but things have gotten MUCH better.
Hoping you have relief soon!!!!

Sandy so sorry to hear this. Ug! So what is the next step? Is your GI dr just dismissing this as the bowels? Personally I would keep looking for what else might be going on. Your symptoms sound eerily familiar to mine with feeling sick after just a few bites and full all the time. Those are classic Gastroparesis symptoms. Ask your GI dr for a gastric emptying study. It is a very simple test. And I agree about the hormones too. My hormones were way too low and once I started taking the birth control pill my Gastroparesis was about 85% improved. I was no longer having daily nausea within just a few months. Turns out my body was very low in estrogen and this makes your digestive tract slow WAY down. Hugs sweetie!

Thanks everyone. I am doing a little bit better...didn't have to take a Compazine at all today, so far! This is a miracle! We'll see how the rest of the day goes. We're going out to dinner for my daughter and son's birthday dinner tonight and I'm worried silly....Just got to take a precautionary dose before dinner along with a Nexium and take the Beano and prelief to take with my meal. I HATE having to do all this simply to EAT!
I have a followup with my gastro in March so I'll talk to him again about the Celiac (hopefully my bloodwork from my primary will be back) and about the Gastroperesis and see what he says. The thought of drinking that barium makes me nauseated just thinking about it, but I think I need to have it done. It's the only gastro test I haven't had done.
So, cross your fingers and toes that I get through a nice dinner tonight for my kiddos who were born two years and two days apart! :)

Sandy you don't drink barium for the Gastric Emptying Study. I wasn't sure if that's what you were referring to. Most labs will have you bring a packet of oatmeal or some egg substitute and they just add in the radioactive material to your food. You eat a few bites and then lay down and the scan your stomach for 1 to 2 hours and see how long it takes to digest your food. I don't know what the Barium might find that hasn't been seen via endoscopy? Do you know? I hope you are able to enjoy your meal tonight!!!
