So, I've been thinking about this for awhile, and I'd like to know what some others think.
My family has a genetic disposition for IBS. My grandmother has it really, really bad as did my grandfather apparently. My brother also has IBS, though not as major as he doesn't take meds, he just knows where every single bathroom in NYC is. My mother has some symptoms of IBS, but not the full fledged disease. She also has many symptoms of IC, though not as bad as mine. I only have IC; amazingly I don't seem to have IBS.
So here's my thought: could it be that some IC is just a form of IBS? By all factors I should have IBS as well as IC, but I don't. I don't really understand IBS as much as IC (and I don't totally understand IC sometiems), but could there be a link between them, at least maybe in my case?
