i had DMSO treatments and it was the hardest thing to do but i had to hold it as long as i could i know it burns bad and hard to hold it but i made myself hold it for almost 2 hours because when i tried after an hour i couldnt pee so I waited a while longer and then i was finnally able to after taking a very hot bath. I bet if you get into a warm or hot tub whatever you can handle you will be able to pee if you have to let the water run on you and pee in the tub i know how it sounds but let it drain out then take a bath you should feel better i know it worked for me... :) im sorry your having a hard time with this :(

I think it's URGENT that you contact your Dr about this!

coffee is a diuretic and should make me need to pee. they also don't think i have IC anymore, just PFD...so.

i'm so scared. i've never not been able to go, not even a drop. and i don't even feel like i need to go.

Try pouring some cool water over your meatus to see if that will start a stream. You could also take toilet paper and gently wipe the meatus with it. Don't try to push it out. Straining can cause problems. Try to relax. I know that is easy for me to say, but the more stressed you are, the more your muscles will not allow urine to pass. Continue trying to get in touch with your doctor if you are still unable to urinate.

Sharon said what I was about to say. Another thing may be to get in the shower or bathtub. That normally did the trick for me. I can't believe you aren't screaming your head off. Please don't strain. I don't have PFD,but I know that is really bad for your PFD to strain.

I am thankful you don't have IC!

I have PFD (as well as I.C.) - absolutely get in a warm bath (it should help)- - if this doesn't help - you may need to go to the ER - I hope you are able to get in touch with your doctor soon.
Please let us know you are ok.....

thanks everyone. they hadn't returned my calls, so i just went there. and they saw me right away and said what i'm experiencing is normal. i was able to go to the bathroom some, so that's good.

they should have told me it was NORMAL to not be able to urinate after this procedure. that would have saved me so much stress and anxiety.

anyway, thanks for all of your tips and concern!

blessings.
