Ok ladies. I am not really a newbie but I was diagmosed 1 year ago this week. My question is in regards to tomatos. Since being diagnosed I have stuck pretty close to the IC diet and it has worked for me (except when I occasionally stray).. The pain is never worth it in the end. I have not had a tomato in a year, no sauces, pizza, spagetti lasagna or anything. I was reading that some patients can eat organic tomatos. Is this true for anyone out there? I am just AFRAID to give it a try. I have been on my Elmiron for 1 year as well as Elavil and get instills at my dr's office about once a month. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Whenever you decide to add a food to your usual diet, make sure it is in a small portion. Don't over do it. And only one item at a time. Maybe a small piece of pizza or a few bits of spaghetti with a small portion of sauce. Wait 2 to 3 days and try it again with the same thing. Chances are, if you do not react to the food after doing that, you can add that item to your list of safe foods.

Good luck and happy eating...:) :) :)
