I woke up not feeling great but I've taken some meds and need to jump in the shower. I'm off to Petco to do a meet and greet for our basset hound rescue that I work with. I love spending time doing rescue stuff. It's so rewarding, the whole cycle, to get a call from a shelter or person who can no longer care for they're houndie. Take that dog into rescue either at my home or another foster home. Give the dog some "healing" time. Have another family find that one special houndie through our rescue. Do a home check and meet with the family to make sure it's going to be a great home for a basset and then have that dog go to they're forever home. There have been a couple dogs that have been very hard for me to let go of and I actually took a year or so off b/c of that and b/c I've been so sick with IC. It's just so nice to be able to get back in and do it again.
