Ok, just when I think I'm getting this thing in line, something else crops up. For the last few months I've had nausea on and off and little appetite, but I attributed that to this flare and the fact that I found out I've had a raging UTI...likely for months.

Anyway...fast forward....week on Cipro, finally had appetite. This week...it feels like I have morning sickness all day and I am in no way shape or form pregnant. I have no appetite. None. I'm having to make myself eat just to take in calories and I've still lost a couple of pounds.

Help? Yes, I know folks will say talk to the doc and I'll do that tomorrow. But in the meantime for those of you who know, what could be causing this?

I will say, that this week I've made some medication changes and added the following....

amoxicillan 250 mgs at bedtime
Femdopholis (to balance out the antibiotics)
valium (2 mg 3x day) for PFD (changed from klonopin and xanax)

The only other things I take are msm/glucosamine and I've been taking that for a month.

I should also add that I've developed a nice little anxiety disorder over the course of this past year and I'm sure that doesn't help.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Amoxicillan always makes me nausea where I cannot eat. So this might be the problem. But I would call and talk this over with your Dr..

leelee,
Thanks for replying and chiming in about the amoxicillan. I swear, I thought I was going nuts!

Dang, I may have a bit of dilema as my doc wants me to take a low dose every night for at least 6 months. None of my docs are convinced I have IC in the traditional sense, but I do have painful bladder syndrome and PFD. There's also evidence of chronic bladder infections in my bladder (and I just had a confirmed UTI) and my doc wants to make sure this bacteria is GONE so my bladder lining can heal.

If you have IC, which it sounds like you have not been dx with it?
But if you have it. IC is an incurable disease this is a known fact.. Your bladder linning can get better but it cannot heal, this is part of the problem with this disease.

IC is being called Painful Bladder Syndrome by alot of doctors now. I just watched a video on YouTube talking about it.

Also, almost any antibiotic makes me sick to my stomach and loss of appetite, but they always tell you to take with food. When I do that, I get sick and there goes the pill!

I hope you find your answers!

I have to agree it sounds like it could be related to medications.

i'm glad you're calling your doctor.

I've been diagnosed with painful bladder syndrome...that is the NEW NAME for IC as they have found that the umbrella has widened and it's now considered a syndrome of symptoms.

By the way, I have had long remissions (as have a number of other people who have the OFFICIAL diagnosis) so something had to have happened in my bladder for that to happen and I would dare say it's some sort of healing....whether it's the lining of the bladder or the calming of the nerves that are irritated in the bladder.

The newest theory is that it's not really a bladder lining issue at all - it's really aberrant (sp?) nerves that go haywire in your pelvis (could be anywhere) and irritate all the nerves around it? The bladder just happens to have a pluthera of nerves that can be triggered and some say it's really an innocent bystander in this process? Other think that those with hunners have a different disease. Etc.
