I'm just trying to piece this last week together for myself since I have been in such pain. So my pain mgt doc gave me 2mg of Levorphanol that I could increase to twice a day. Well when I did increase it to twice a day that's when I had the allergic reaction, my face had swelling, my fingers were swelling, I was itching from the top of my head to the bottoms of my feet. So this doc says it's not a reaction to the medicine. If it was it would have happened when I took 1 tab not just by increasing the dose. WHATEVER. I'm not taking the medicine and have an appt in the morning however; with having that allergic reaction in my body didn't it do the same thing to my poor bladder? My bladder just probably got hit by so much histamine that it doesn't know what to do. That's what I think has been so bad with this flare. I have been taking Lortab which is safe for me and taking benedryl. I've been forcing myself to eat and drink b/c I just don't have any appitete at all. I'm totally fatigued and my back is killing me. Just wanted to see if anyone else thinks that's a possibilty.

It could be a possibility - do you have a more i.c. friendly antihistimine other than benedryl though?

Did you eat anything new while taking the medication that could have caused a reaction? I would sure address this at your appointment face to face and make sure he realizes when it happened and what helped. Good luck.

Allergies = high histamine = bladder pain.
This has been the story of my life.

What are some antihistamines that are kind to the bladder/don't dry us out?
