For the people that have had nerve blocks.....what pain did you have??
did you have the bladder pain or the urethra pain or both???
I get sorta cramping in my bladder and sometimes i have the frequency but the thing that bugs me the most is the urethra pain(like a knife going through the urethra) sometimes i feel like lil knives floating in my bladder then if i go to the bathroom i strain and lil bit of urine comes out then i feel like i am passing a knife or two.....:cussing::toilet::rant::bonk:
so i was wondering if people that have had nerve blocks have had the same pain and if so---did the nerve block help?/?
Lookin for better maintenance/preventative measures for my IC....:bonk:
I hope people are doin good
take care
hugs n better bladder days :hi:

I'm not too good at describing my pain as I have such a high tolerance. That said, I can tell the difference before, during and after now that I have had it done twice. When I get the pudendal blocks, I get it done on both sides. The first time I was partially numb for about 10 hours. I say partially because it didin't quite get in the right spot that time. Last week I was fully numb down there for about 36 hours or so. When I say numb, think novacaine numb. When it wears off, I get a few hours of that sort of pins and needles feeling if too much pressure is applied. Now that I recognize the pain, I am looking forward to my blocks tomorrow. I also go to physical therapy and having the nerve blocks will likely help me in that as well. We'll see. Good luck to you!

yeah i figured out that i think i should go to my uro again since i saw him last year for the diagnosis and the elmiron worked for me and then suddenly kept getting wee flares and such now and i stopped it and now its constant like it was before the diagnosis but my stomach definitely didn't like the elmiron so yeah i think i should just go check it out with the uro and see what he says...
But i am glad i got more info on stuff so now i can really talk to him instead of just listen and try and figure out what hes saying:bonk:(they use that doc talk ya never know what they are saying....and they never know what the patients really feel so i am glad i know other experiences with things to make a decision)
thank you...
