OK this is annoying. I am in a lot of pain. I have been having some pelvic pain because it is close to that wonderful time of the month:cussing: This morning, I was in the spare room organizing things and I lifted a plastic tote full of stuff for school and moved it maybe 3 feet. Could this have caused the sudden increase in pain? I took a warm bath and also took a nap and while I was lying down the pain was much less which tells me something is in spasms. However, I can't figure out what did it. This is so unfair :(

That's usually my biggest trigger for pain. Doing something strenuous. Hope it passes soon!

that type of thing can set me off too. I think the key is to not do too much at once.

I get a lot of pain too from lifting(I'm a preschool teacher so I do it alot). I need to use a heating pad a lot.

I've read that lifting causes the pinpoint hemmorhages on the bladder lining to "open" allowing the toxic urine to cause us more pain.

Interesting about the pinpoint bleeding when lifting. I will have to read about that.

It is so hard to realize I can't do the things I used to be able to do without thinking twice.

If lifting causes the pinpoint hemorrhages- I am going to ask my uro about that one. I did a lot of lifting as an Rn and I mean a lot- heavy lifting as well.
I have been off work on LTD since May. My last hydro in November he said he could not believe how my bladder looked. He said it was from not working. No lifting, no standing or walking the hospital hallways for 8-10 hours.

If it true then I would say my pin point hemorrhages were reduced greatly by not lifting patients. Interesting point. Vn

I always get increased pain if I try and lift something heavy. I try and get someone else to do any lifting for me - I believe my uro said nothing over 20 pounds.

Oh no! I have been trying to work out at a gym since early December. I am doing the eliptical for about 30 minutes and am doing a few arm exercises. The trainer started me out at about 20 pounds on the machines, but I have gradually increased them to about 30 pounds. I have stayed in a slight (for me) flare, but I was in that before I started. I go to my doctor next week so I will be sure to ask him about it. I have noticed that my lower back has hurt a lot lately and I can tell that my pelvic floor tries to tighten up when I am doing the eliptical. I always hurt worse on the right side because of my VV, but I had a trainer watch me and she said I was turning my right knee slightly out and I can tell that I put more force into my right foot when I go down. The doctor had previously told me that he thought I actually had had a trauma to my left side, but my right side tried to compensate and that was why my pain was on the right side. It will be interesting to see what he says.

How about increased pain from doing "simple" things like laundry or just daily cleaning of the house? I have noticed if I do too much bending or squatting it sets me off too.

I have an appt with the doctor later in the month and I plan to ask him about the pinpoint bleeding.

April, I just seen your post. I know whenever I do any heavy lifting I start getting shooting pains in my bladder. I think an IC bladder just does not like being disturbed in any way!..I hope you are feeling better..(((hugs)))

Well I know my back doesn't like doing the snowblower thing on the driveway and neither do I. I have self propelled wheels but I still have to pull the cord to get it started. My friends think it is funny. I do not. I freik out if I think I am going to have to do the driveway again. Those two days totaling 16 inches of snow was a handful. I know it got me out of the house, fresh air and showered for the day. All that when I think I should get away and go visit my folks in FLorida. My mom says oh 81 and she is hot. I say don't start you would not want to be in Michigan. Vn

Lifting or too much bending is a problem for me. Actually anything that puts strain on my abdominal muscles hurts.

Me too - my symptoms increase - from lifting - walking more than normal - and somedays even just laundry and general housework. I am learning that I need frequent breaks -

I hope you feel better soon.
