I recently had a cysto with hydro. When I woke up the uro said I had a perfectly healthy bladder. I pushed him a little and he did mention there were perhaps a few mild blood spots but for him it was inconclusive evidence of IC. If anything he said I may have a very mild case. He mentioned I have a narrow bladder neck, and the cameras caused a lot of bleeding.

Since the cysto (four weeks ago) I have been in pain, especially in the mornings. I have a constant mild pain in my bladder, freequency but Im able to control it and dont really have any urgency. Before the cysto it was more pressure than pain, so really Im worse off since the investigation.

If this is not IC, then what else can it be? I have had every test under the sun but still not really been properly diagnosed for anything, nor am I recieving any treatments.

Off my own back I start accupuncture tomorrow, and Im going to another (3rd) Uro for a third oppinion and some advice on what I can do.

Needless to say this has been going on for a while and mentally taking its toll.

Ive done my internet research and cant find any other cause for the constant bladder pain. Any advice is welcome.

Did he do a biopsy to check for mass cells? Sometimes even with the Hydro IC Might not show up. But with a biospy he would have been able to rule out certain things and also checked for mass cells to confirm IC being that he did not see much.

He did a biopsy but im not sure if they checked for mass cells, think it was purely for cancer. Perhaps this is a question I can ask when I see him next Wednesday. Surely for a URO of 15 - 20 years experience IC would be bread and butter?

I dunno. Its all very confusing and Im dont seem to be getting anywhere.

I would ask.. I had a URO who had been in practice for 15 years and he made a lot of mistakes with me.So of course I found another URO.

But if you feel strongly about this and want more answers you could always go for a second opinion.
Another thing you could look into is PFD (Pelvic Floor Dysfunction) It will mimic IC in alot of ways.

Here's a link that might be helpful

Oh I wanted to add.. Alot of us who have PFD do not have leakage. I have very good control. But have been Dx with PFD..My pain with PFD is in the Pelvic right near the bladder. And in my back and inner thighs.

Ive had the urodynamics test done, would this rule our PFD? Catheter and sensor up the nether regions.

BTW Im male, does it still count?

what about doing the PUF questionnaire and PST test? The PST is very good at detecting the milder versions of IC.

Ok sorry It does not, But I have read where it can affect men also.
Heres where I read it.
