Hi! I am posting to invite anyone in the South Western PA area to a support group meeting in Houston, PA. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 7pm at the First United Presbyterian Church (102 North Main St. Houston, PA 15342).

It is a Hopekeepers support group for anyone, even caregivers, coping with a chronic illness or pain. With all of the overlapping diagnosis that comes with IC, it is nice to talk about them also. We offer spiritual and emotional support to each other through bible studies on chronic pain, worry, patience, etc. that will help you cope with your situation and let you know you are not alone.

Please PM me if you have any other questions. I look forward to seeing you there!

How close to Warren is this? I live in Jamestown, NY, about 14 miles from Warren and perhaps 45-50 minutes from Erie, PA. It might be nice to join.

We are in Washington county, which is the SouthWestern corner of PA, near the Ohio/West Virginia border.

Houston is about 3 hours south of Erie. Are you near Philly? I know when I lived in NJ I went to an IC group that met in a hospital north of Philly. Also, there is a support group in New York if you are closer to that.

I'm sorry we're so far away from you, but I hope I helped. If I find the contact names for the other groups, I'll post them. They should be in the list of support groups on the main page of the IC Network.

The Warminster, PA support group is no longer meeting, unfortunately. The Philadelphia area is in such need of a support group.

Penguin, do you follow a Hopekeeper's study book? And how has your response been since you have started this group? I receive their daily devotionals and highly recommend the www.restministries.org website. I wish you all the best with it! :grouphug:

We are using the second book in the series about living with chronic pain. Each book is 5 lessons long, but we usually take 2 weeks to go over each lesson because we share personal stories and triumphs in each lesson.

I get the daily devotions from restministries too. I look forward to them each day. I have also subscribed to their magazine, but I haven't received one yet.

I'm sorry to hear that the Warminster group has disolved. That's the one I went to. There were a lot of people at it. I wonder what happened. I have the leader's phone number. If I find that they are meeting somewhere else, I will have her post on here.
