So i'm slowly starting to analyze my pain...maybe a little to much? But something i've noticed is when my bladder is full i'm ok, it's after i've emptied I get these horribly painful spasms and burning that lasts for an hour or so after. So is it because my bladder walls colapse and are touching. I know that the bladder is a hollow like ballon. so is that why i hurt so bad after voiding. all I know is this pain is sooooo gonna have to go away!!! There has to be a solution. And im on a mission.:lmao:

thst is normal for ic. I have been taking urised every day to control that. When I ran out it was off market due to no raw materials. I now take prosed, and its not nearly as good.

This is very possible.

Yes, that was one of my symptoms as well. It seemed to hurt worse the longer I would hold it. When I first was diagnosed with IC, I kept thinking that if I "re-train" my bladder and hold it longer, it would stretch out, but that just made things worse.
Prosed has been my "miracle med" for the last several months! I took Trac 2 many years ago after I was first diagnosed, but it went off the market shortly thereafter and I just couldn't find a med like it. Prosed is even better that Trac 2 was and I loved Trac 2! I haven't had one occasion since August that I have held my bladder for too long and then either not been able to empty because it would start spasing, or I would go into strong spasms and pain after I emptied. My voiding is probably that of a normal person. I only need to go to the bathroom 1 to 2 times during my work day and I am drinking alot of water which is required with Prosed.

The thing is I was told that I have a LARGE bladder, which is odd for an IC patient.

ic is not necessarly a size issue.

Hey Dream,
I get the same symptoms. Its a very weird feeling, that my bladder is full and no pain. Then when I do go, the burning and pain starts.
So there are meds you can take to lesson the symptoms?

When I'm flaring, it's always worse after I urinate than before.

Dream,
The bladder has so many nerves in it. That is what you could be feeling. Some here have normal bladder size, but can only hold a small amount of urine because the damaged bladder has lost most of the linning and the nerves are now exposed making the bladder even more sensitive.

Does size matter? LOL I have no idea. :lmao: I have pretty normal sized bladder with pretty good capacity....but the spasms I get make it crazy sometimes.
But I took a quick online to see which way the bladder moves when you void....maybe you get really bad spasms...kinda like a Charlie Horse, but in your bladder(?) So maybe everytime you void...it OVER reacts and really squeeeeeezes extra hard...I'm only guessing of course, but whaddya think?

I have to say this is my primary symptom. I'm ok when my bladder is full, but after I void, I hurt for about 10 minutes afterwards. If I have to hold it in for a long time, it hurts longer afterwards. It's so frustrating. I have to wait until Feb to see my doctor again, but maybe I will call and ask for a sample of prosed. It sounds like it could be just what we need.
