I don't know if pears are good for IC but from what alot of people say they are a "safe" food for IC.. I personally flare from pears.. But I am one of the VERY FEW that does.. The IC diet is mostly trial and erro.. You have to try it for yourself, because we are all so differant..

thanks Leelee for your quick reply.
i used to eat 3 or 4 bananas a day, every day but since reading that pears are ok i've swapped the bananas for pears.
i hope the pain will not get worse : (

Lots of ICers flare from bananas, especially if they eat too many of them. I can get away with eating one occasionally, but can't handle them all of the time. I can eat pears with no problem.

I can't have pears either. They bothered me to. I also will flare from bananas. I know alot of IC'ers can have pears, I am one that can't. Hope they work for you. :)

i only used to eat bananas at work, monday to friday and not eat any at the weekend.
although if i get a flare they are usually at the weekend.
someone once suggested that my flares may be due to being less active at the weekend.
what can people suggest for the reason for my flares being at weekends.
and how can i prevent a flare which occurs before my period? it's my period in about a week but i'm going for a day out with friends this weekend.
i'm terrified that my symptoms will start again.
i suppose worrying does not help either....: (
