how does one find out what is causing frequency? i have a 500 cc bladder capacity under anesthia but could that actually be causing me to go every
2o min? Or is it muscle spasms? PFD? If we dont empty our bladders completley, is this due to PFD? i feel like im going crazy because i was told i dont have PFD, yet i have hesitation before my flow starts. I dont know how to go about treating this because i dont know what is going on. im confused, can anyone help here?

My capacity under general was 500cc's as well. I woke up with terrible abdominal pain and terrible retention for 2 days... so I know the hydrodistention did something to my bladder!
I had a urodynamics study and it was the single most important test I had done. It showed that my pelvic floor doesn't spasm or that my bladder doesn't spasm... I get a premature signal from my bladder to my brain to "tight down" the pelvic muscles. That constant tightening (not intermittant... but constant) is a major part of my symptoms. Soma (a muscle relaxant helped me a bit). The other issues is that I void normally, but after my bladder is empty, my bladder has a massive contraction like a charlie horse and it holds on to it for a long time before releasing. So, when I strain... I only amplify the problems I mentioned. The study helped us pick better meds. Am I cured, not a chance... but the urodynamics study (sucked for sure) but was the most important thing I did for my bladder. I refused it months and months ago... and I wish I had it done earlier. I would get in to your doctor and ask for tests to see what is going on with your bladder and see where the dysfunction is.
