Hi my name is Cristie Carter. I have been suffering with I have been told is IC for almost 17 years now. It started a few times a year I would have a flare up for 4-5 nights. Then it grew worse every year. Now it is every night!

I left the big city to live in the desert and focus on why I am really here on the wacky planet! And well it got so much worse I have 3 nights a month if I am luucky with maybe only 4 trips to the Bathroom, most of the time it is more like 30 trips a night. This has put a huge snag in my plans to move forward in my life.

I ended up in emergancy in November and was told I have IC. Mind you I went to many doctors and specialists and no one ever even mentioned IC to me ever. After feeling insane for so long it was nice to find out I am not totally insane!:loco:

I always new that diet played a huge role in what ever was going on with me. I am not into taking drugs at all. I would like to conquer this with out if possible.

I have been following the diet and still am feeling wierd. My question is:

DO ANY OF YOU EXPERIENCE THAT DURING THE DAY YOU FEEL FINE AND AT NIGHT WHEN LYING DOWN YOU FEEL PAIN? FOR ME WHEN I LAY DOWN IT SEEMS TO KILL.

Any feed back would be appreciated.

:welcome: to the ICN

I feel more of my trouble and pain at night because I am laying more still then during the day when I am busy and more occupied with things. Diet is a big part of alot of our problems and in the ICN handbook you will find tons of helpful tips and diet help.

Hello and :welcome:To the ICN..

I would suggest that you find a Dr that would listen to and validate you. There are doctors out there that believe in IC and will treat you for it. Have you read the Patient Handbook here on this site. It has a list of IC Drs in it that specialize in IC in all states. You might find one in your area. I hope you find it helpful. Also if you do nor want modern meds there are all sorts of good alternative meds that seem to help IC..

Hello :)

I do experience more pain and frequency at night, and if I roll around too much the next thing you know I have to go.

Oh and :welcome: to the ICN :)

Yes Cristie,
I also feel it much more at night and then as soon as I wake up in the morning, it hits me right in the face! I agree with Leslie that it's probably because I'm more busy during the day and working and dont' really have as much time to think about it until I finally sit down or lay down at night is when I feel it the most, so it is very common. I hope you are able to find a good doctor and get the help that you need, we're here for you though for any questions you may have or that someone can help you with. Hang in there.

Kari

I am confused about the patient handbook and if I have read it or not. I looked but I will look again.

I think one of things that happen to us is that when we are moving about doing things in the daytime, it's easy to be distracted. But when we lay down on a bed to relax, even little discomforts we hardly notice during the day feel much more distracting.

Hopefully you will be working with your doctor to find some things to help you rest. That's so important to recovery.

Warm healing thoughts,
Donna
