Femdophilus gave me a yeast infection

I started taking Femdophilus daily for the first 2 weeks of my cycle due to the fact that I have to take Macrobid after sex. We are trying to have a baby so I stopped taking the Femdophilus the last 2 weeks in my cycle incase I got preganant and I got the worst yeast infection. I haven't had one this bad in years. I am pretty sure the femdophilus did this becasue I have been doing the Macrobid treatment for a while and just started the femdophilus as a precaution. Has anyone heard of this happening.

Did yeast actually show up on culture?

The reason I ask is because i was taking the femdophils and my NP saw an overgrowth of the good bacteria when i was on it, it felt just like a yeast infection, with discharge.

For me I think i was taking too many probiotics.....since i wasnt on antibiotics at the same time.

Yes it was a yeast infection and the most nasty I have ever had included bleeding. It started a couple of days after I stopped taking the Femdophilus. I had been taking it everyday for 2 weeks. It went away with a 3 day course of Monistat.

I guess I don't understand. Are you saying that taking the Femdophilus gave you a yeast infection? Or was it stopping it that did? I don't see how a probiotic can give you a yeast infection. That makes no sense to me!

It seems that stopping it gave me a yeast infection. I was taking it for 2 weeks every day as soon as I stopped I got a massive yeast infection. I am sure it was from this. I was not taking/doing anything else out of the ordinary. Anywho I just was wondering if any of you guys had heard about this happening. I am scared to go back on it again.

I have had very bad experiences with probiotics too. I get vaginal infections whenever I try them. I don't think I'm going to try them any more! X(
