I'm wondering if some of my meds are affecting my brain function? It first started out I couldn't remember words while talking. Now it gets to where when I talk it comes out jibber or I talk backwards. Instead of saying "The End" I say "End The"> I've noticed even when I post on the boards here my typing the words is not right. Anyone else have this or am I really older mind wise then what I am??

It sounds like a possible medication reaction; what does your doctor say about this?
Donna
I have it so bad sometimes that I have to write on paper b/c I cannot talk and then my letters are reversed.
I can't say for you, but I am in EXTREME liver/bladder pain right now....... and I am bipolar and panic and cry................
I think pain can do this....... I think depression and hopeless feelings can do this..............
I am not on any new meds........
It comes and goes...............
Except for pain.......... I cannot think of what causes it.

Yes! It happens to me all the time. Adverse reaction to my pain killers. After a while, you start to feel like you're losing your mind! I forget words, say them backwords. My dislexya is even worse (as is my spelling). My doctor is sure it's from my meds and after doing some research, I absoultly believe her.
6 cats! I have three. Used to have four but I had to put Dylan down this past summer. My old boy. I miss him every day and know how important they are in my life. I love to hear I'm not the only cat lover out there!
Good luck! Don't worry, they say if it's from meds, it is reversiable when you stop taking them. :cat::cat::cat::angel::cat:

I think its the meds that we're on, I have problems especially when I am tired to pronouce my words and they get "tongue tied."

I had this reaction to nortriptyline and it was very scary. My doctor insisted I cease taking it immediately. I had a speech distrubance, which is what they consider a "rare but serious side effect"

Glad to know it's from the medicine.
tahini16, I was starting to think maybe I had dislexia too. It sure is a weird and strange feeling when you know what you want to say but it just won't come out. Sorry to hear about Dylan. That is one reason why I never wanted anymore pets and here I am....6 cats and me with a very high cat fear. :lmao: Really weird how things turn out. There seems to be an "underground" group of us cat lovers. While at the doctors last week a woman told me the name of her cat, which was the same as one of mine, and how her sister says she is the grandmother to her cat, which is how I think with mine. :bonk: I have started rocking them too so....I have turned into the crazy old cat lady on the hill.

I take 100 mgs. Hydroxyzine every night, meclizine 25 mgs twice a day (think I spelled it wrong), viciden 500 mgs 3 times a day for over 1 year now I think. Just started taking celexa.
Was also thinking maybe it is from lack of sleep? have noticed I do have nightmares from the celexa which is one of the side effects it says. Not the bottle of pills talking saying it was a side effect. The paper that came with the bottle said it. Not that the paper was talking...........ok, it's late at night and my brain is going silly again. :loco:
