I've had questions about this for a while, since I mentioned that I tested positive for vaginal mycoplasma while I was overseas, but came back here and the docs all said that it's "normal", and I didn't need antibiotics. Now, my IC pal tested positive for enterococcus, the Dr. F "disease".
Here's my question. Why do these gram positives seem to take long-term antibiotics to clear up? You always hear about people needing to be on for months, and sometimes even years.
Thoughts and feedback welcomed. I feel like even though I like my doctors, I have to be so on top of research! I mean why, for instance, would an ObGyn--very well known and respected--be unwilling to test for hormone levels? Seems but normal when a woman is having gynecological and urinary issues. Don't get these guys sometimes.
