Emergency Surgery Today

Just when I think things couldn't get worse. I had to have emergency surgery today. I had a rectal blockage and couldn't have a BM. Along with that my anal fissures are really bad. They found out that I have a weakening of the rectal wall where there is like a pocket where the stool collects and then can't pass....I know too much information.
It was nice to be pain FREE during the procedure but tonight I am in a great deal of pain again. Between this and the Interstim issue(keeps bleeding).

The surgeon thinks Miralax may have caused the weakening of the mucosa of the intestinal lining. He doesn't want me taking it after I have for many many years daily.

I'm so sorry about your surgery. I've had anal fissures and thrombosed hemorrhoids and they are incredibly painful. Hope you heal quickly. Take care...Sue

You may want to look into physical therapy once you get healed up. I suffer from fissures and hemorrhoids, and found that PT has been very helpful in keeping me regular and getting the muscles to behave!
