Hi everyone, I wasn't even going to post this because I was doing so well, about 3 days ago, I started a flare, it has gotten worse each day. I can't even lay down without getting up to urinate and I feel like my bladder has a fever. I hurt all over. I have been very sad today. I feel horrible when I can't do anything with the kids and I lay on the couch all day. My boyfriend who was very supportive, until recently, he said to me today, oh I am suprised your not out shopping, he has seen me on the couch and can barely walk and has not once asked me how am I feeling. Not once asked me if he could help around the house. I guess he assumes since I was doing good, I am always supposed to feel good and do everything as I do, and I don't complain. I don't even get thank you's anymore. Maybe he has decided he doesn't want to be with me and my illness and doesn't want to tell me. Its like I bend over backwards and nothing I do is right. Thats the way I feel. He has been acting this way since I started my Lupron therapy. Anyway, just hope this will pass quickly for me, I was doing so well, when I flare I feel sick all over. I can't do much when I have to stay close to the bathroom. I am going to go lay down and I took a pyridium hoping that would help a little. Thank you all for listening.

I am so sorry you are feeling so bad. I hope this passes quickly. It might be a good idea to be checked to see if this is being caused by a UTI.

Sharon said what I was going to say....get checked for a UTI just to be on the safe side. I'm sorry things are rough at home right now. Sometimes men just don't know how to act around us when we're sick. They might think they'll say the wrong thing and they just say nothing at all. :(
I hope your flare passes quickly and you're back on your feet in no time!
Hugs, Sandy

I'm with the ladies - get checked for a UTI, definitely better safe than sorry!! ;)
I agree too, guys sometimes don't know how to deal with us when we are feeling rotten - because they are "fixers" and can't fix this, lol.
I also want to say, that as much as you might not want to, LOL, I'd sit him down and have a serious heart to heart. Not when you are feeling really horrible and when you both are in a relaxed mood etc. ;) Tell him how you feel - he may not even realize it.
Like in the movie "The Break-up" with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn - when she had those 2 tickets to the concert, and he said he'd go, then didn't and she's home crying in her bedroom and she finally pours her heart out telling him she feels taken for granted blah blah blah. He asks her why she never told him this stuff, and she says she did and she tried (as most of us women do, lol) -- his response was " Never like that, you might have said some things that meant to imply that, but I'm not a mind reader..."
It hit me at that scene how TRUE it was, sometimes they need us to draw them a picture, lol. However she was saying it, wasn't registering in his guy brain the way she was intending it. So, give him a chance and let him know how you feel - and make sure he gets it, and doesn't walk away with the wrong impression etc. I can't tell you how many times I've asked hubby - ok, what'd I just say and what to you think it means? LMAO!!!:lmao:
And lastly, keep your chin up - it will get better and you will feel better, you just hit a minor snag, k??
Hugs,
Tracey

Thanks. I do have a low grade fever, its only 99.2. I have to get a b12 level tomorrow so I will talk to the doc then. I do have a home UTI test and that was negative but they are not always accurate and I did take a pyridium. That makes my urine orange for 2 days! I don't know if pyridium messes up the results, I never looked it up cause I don't take it often. Thanks again and thanks for the tips Tracey.

Yes, pyridium can effect the test. You said that it turns your urine orange for two days? It usually only does that with me for about 24 hours. How much water are you drinking? I know I tend to drink a lot more if my bladder is burning, with or without an infection.

It does sound like infection is a possibility. And only an ICer would say this, but I hope that's all it is.

((((((((Lisa)))))))))))) I'm so sorry that I didn't see your post and your emails until now. I hope that you're getting some rest and feeling better. I'm sorry that you and Eric are not getting along. Like I told you, you and him both have IC and the men don't know how to deal with it. When you're feeling better I would talk to him about how you feel. I'm here all night if you need to vent and gripe about your flare so just give me a call. :grouphug:

Thank you everyone! Tracy, you were right, he said to me I have NO communication. He had no idea how bad I was feeling, just that he felt like I wanted him to leave me alone and his feelings were hurt. He was always there for me which is why this was suprising to me. I am a very independent person. I have an app tomorrow, I do have the low grade fever, I have the bladder spasms and pain but no burning, this feels just like my last flare, I thought I had an infection and I didn't. It was horrible but it passed as this will and I hope maybe this is an infection so I can be treated because I was doing so well. I will keep you all posted, thank you very much :)

So sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. I do believe we all tend to be so strong through it all and never really express how we are feeling. I think that is something us women do and then when we hit rock bottom we finally pour out our hearts. I know w/ my husband he says so many times....please tell me what you need from me, I can't read your mind. I am sure your boyfriend is feeling the same way. Let us know what you find out tomorrow. Hope you can get some rest tonight.

lisa,
I hope you are doing better! My husband says he can not read between the lines but sometimes I feel like I could write my feelings on my forehead and he still would not get it. There are times I feel like if I have to spell it out to him it would make me feel worse. I am glad you were able to talk to him. Maybe that will help the stress level. Feel better soon!

Thank you everyone! I appreciate all of you so much. I had my urine checked today, it was negative, all it has was blood, which is my normal, I have had microscopic blood in my urine since I was in my middle 20's and have never had a urine check that was negative for blood so thats normal for me, the docs have told that comes from my bladder. So its just one of my nasty flares. The nurse at my doctors office that treats my IC said I could go in and see him, but I am already on everything and I will just wait it out and eventually it will pass. I woke up this morning and I had pains in my thighs, I felt like I ran a marathon, I am so achy all over. I was able to sleep last night so that was good. Thanks again to you all. :)

Glad that you two had a good communication session, lol ;) They are funny sometimes that's for sure!!! I know, mine is always harping on me that I don't ask for help - but that's not me, it's not in my nature (maybe because I'd never had anyone to ask for help from, lol) and sometimes is my worst enemy, lol. :)
I do hope you feel better, sorry to hear it wasn't a UTI, ugh. But I am sure it will pass quickly and you'll be feeling good in no time!!!! :)
HUGS!!!

Thanks again. I wanted to mention, I took pyridium yesterday, it didn't seem to do anything for me except make me more irritated down there! I noticed it did that last time to. But I wanted to get rid of them spasms. I am super sensitive so maybe it just irritates me. I have taken prosed ds and done fine, so maybe I should stick with that. It was really making me burn down there after I took it.
