How many of you were bed wetters?

I was a bed wetter until I was almost 11 years old, talk about embarassing. I was just wondering how many other people with IC were bed wetters also. Kinda personal, I know. I had every test ran on me they could and decided I had grown faster than my bladder and it would catch up. I am just wodering if there is a connection. Thanks

I remember having the problem to some degree but I don't think it was too bad. I wasn't tested or anything. I did tell my current dr that I remember always peeing more than my friends when I was a teenager. They would always make me sit on the end of the row at the movie theater because I would be the only one to get up during the movie to pee. My dr told me he thinks I've always had IC which I find interesting.

yes I was also a bedwetter until a later age. I had my first cysto I think about five. I can remember still to this day as they used ether..... that brings back bad memories. I always used to ask my crna friends that put me to sleep to please leave the mask off of my face until I was asleep because of that childhood memory. Now they blast me with so much versed and pain meds that by the time the mask is on my face.... I am asleep.

Did you have one of those cotton rubber pad things under your sheets? I did.

Yes my mother put a plastic matress cover on my bed. It worries me b/c my niece wets the bed maybe 2-3 times per week and is 12. They told her the same thing. she grew faster than her bladder. My daughter doesn't wet the bed. Maybe 1-2 times a year but she is only 4 so i think that is normal.

Not a bed wetter, but whenever I laughed really hard ,when I was young, I always peed my pants. My brother had the same problem, so we were always racing to the bathroom to see who would make it there first.

I was not. But now that I have IC and know what it is I think I had some of it for a long time. I have had bouts of frequency when I was little. I just learned to control it by not drink certain things or at all when I was going to be away from a restroom. My dad actually would not let me have beverages when we were going on vacation the day of the car ride. Only for long rides like ten hours because I went so much compared to my sister. She would just wait and go when I asked to stop.

I wet my bet until I was about 3-4. That was late considering I had an older sister. They didn't think much of it because it was 'rare' for me as 4 y/o to have an accident. I did have 1-2 accidents later (middle school) and one even in college. Now, the only thing I can think of is I was so sound asleep I just didn't 'hear' the 'gotta go' signal. I know the last one when I was 19, I was dreaming about frantically looking for a bathroom and when I found it... there was so much relief... unfortunately, I was not on a toilet :(
