I had the Mini Arc bladder sling procedure 2 1/2 weeks ago and I started leaking again this morning.....I'm SO depressed about it! I called my dr. but he's out of town so I have an appt for the 2nd. I have no idea what he's going to say about all this but I know I'm totally sick about it! Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? I had it happen in 2001 when I had a similar surgery but this one was suppose to be new and improved.......

Roxie,
Do you think that it is part of the recovery process? Did your doctor say that it might happen for the first few weeks? Maybe it just takes a little time for everything to heal and it will stop soon. I hope that it all works out for you. I am praying for you

HI Country Farm and Kuntrygurl,
The dr. didn't say anything about there being a time during healing that I might begin leaving. Also I'm having some pain in the front of my abdomen. I called my dr. office today and talked with the dr. on call (Not a dr. from the office) and he said the device could have shifted or I'm having retention. Well having had IC for over 30 yrs I know retention when I have it... and this isn't it. Maybe the device has shifted and that's what's causing the pain I'm having. IF it gets worse I may go to the ER but I don't know what they can do for me....I can't take any pain med because that would cause me that would cause me to have a Major IC flare and cause great pain in my esophagus from my Barrett's. So am going to try to tough it out till I see my dr....unless it gets worse then I will go to the ER. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers...........

Roxie---I'm sorry to hear this. I had my fingers crossed that this was going to be a smooth recovery and a successful surgery.
Dont panic just yet though. It could very well be part of the healing process. If theres any swelling going on, that could cause you to retain a bit of urine in the urethra which would leak out once you got to moving around and/or relaxed a bit, or when the swelling subsided
Do you find you're leaking constantly, or is it sporadic?

Do let us know what the Dr says.
Wishing you well...
Diana
