I had my 3rd botox treatment. This was the first time without hydrodistention and the first time in the Dr. office. My God it was very painful. no pain meds. I had alot of pain with the injections in the sides of the bladder. I also had increased pain as the bladder filled with water as he did the injections. I had 30 injections in all. It has been only 4 days and I am still healing. I took a week off from work thank God I don't think I would of been worth much at work. I have had a lot of pain in the bladder. I can not pee on my own and have to cath. this makes the bladder much more sensitive when I stick the catheter in. I have lots of blood clots and it hurts when the catheter touches the sides of the bladder which causes more pain. Has anyone had this expericence?

Hi Lynn, Just wondering how the Botox helped since you first had it done? Did it help with just urge/frequency or has it helped with any pain? I just had it mentioned to me as a possibility so just researching it a little bit more. thanks!

I did it in the office and almost fainted it was so painful but it wasn't the injections I felt, it was the twirling and manipulating of the scope I think that hurt so badly. I had retention of 200cc for almost 10 mos. I learned how to crede out the rest (like kneading bread) so I only cathed once. I still crede to get out up to 50cc more for extra relief. I'm so happy for those botox helped but it was a nightmare for me and the worst thing to date that I have tried. Never again. I didn't bleed after the first day and no clots.

No I was injected through a cystoscope into the wall of the bladder.

didn't realize there were replys.
The first time it helped for 4 months went from peeing 30 times a day to 8 to 10 and urge, frequency and pain was much better. I was very happy. Then we did it again 6 months after the first. That one put me in retention. I had to cath all the time. It did help with urge & Frequency and pain inbetween having to go pee and it did bring be back down to 8 to 10 a day. This time only lasted 3 months.
I was in alot of pain and we did it again to try to get the spasms to stop. this is where I am now it took 1 1/2 weeks to stop hurting from having it done in the office and for healing. I am doing bett except for the last 4 days I have had pain again. not sure why.
So I guess it is different for everyone.
