Hi Ladies,

just curious to hear from those of you who are pregnant or who have been through it - I was having a really hard time during the first part of my pregnancy with the IC-constant flares/pain/nausea from it all...the last 4-5 months have been great, less food sensitivities, very little pain or flare ups...

Dec 23 I was officially 31 weeks along and that's about when this started up...been in and out of the bathroom constantly, am in a bit of pain and exhausted from peeing all the time/being uncomfortable... :toilet:

Did any of you guys have a small period of "remission" during your pregnancy then have things turn around towards the end? I'm really hoping it isn't a UTI, i'll be getting that checked out of course, but I'm pretty sure it's not...

Would love to make it till Jan 31 at work, but the way this week's been, I'm not so sure :(

It could be that the baby is moving down in preparation for birth, which can lead to more frequent bathroom trips due to the weight on the bladder in the third trimester.

My last trimester was the absolute worst!! My pelvic bone felt like it was going to snap in half and my bathroom trips doubled! Baby's weight sure does take a toll! I leaked urine all the last trimester, after having had a nice first and second.

argh! I was worried that would happen!

The biggest thing this past week has been incredible pain - which i haven't had since I first became pregnant...then it calmed down after 3-4 months, and have been doing so well since, even less food sensitivities...now it seems it's going the other way...

when did you go off work? did you manage right up till the end or did you leave early b/c of the discomfort? my job req's me to be on my feet almost all of the 8 hrs i work, making it difficult to do my job otherwise...am beginning to think it might be time to talk to my GP about sick leave.....?

I am so glad you posted your message, because I am curious about how all the pregnant gals are doing. I am 26 weeks and have been doing well throughout the pregnancy. I have little pressure pains sometimes on the sides of my lower abdomin and more frequency but nothing compared to how I was a year ago. I have been off all meds. I do have a great deal of discharge which worries me a little and Is icky, but I have a doc apt next wee and I will talk to her. I worry about everything!!! Its the hormones!! Good luck!! You are almost done. The baby will be here before you know it!
Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest. Don't try to over do it!

Braedley,
Hey I'm 31 weeks so we are probably very close in due dates. I'm due March 2. In the last couple weeks I've also noticed that my food sensitivities are starting to creep in again.......ugh! They aren't back in full force yet but I will be so sad to give up fruits, peanut butter, yogurt, and all the good stuff I've gotten spoiled to in the 2nd trimester.

Like you, I've noticed that when I'm standing or walking I have to pee every five minutes. However, if I sit down I feel like the urge goes away. I figure this must just be the weight of the baby right against the bladder. If I had to stand up all day for my job I KNOW there's NO WAY I could make it til the end. Sometimes I have to walk for 5-10 minutes at a time if I'm working at the hospital and those days (3 days a week) are really hard on me and pretty exhausting. I look forward to the 2 days a week I work in a small clinic and don't have to walk very far to see patients. At least I get to sit down for part of the time I work with people!!! I'm starting to question if I'll have it in me to work up until I have the baby....just because the baby is starting to keep me awake at night and for some reason I haven't been sleeping good lately, even though I'm tired...so I'm starting to feel pretty worn out most of the time.

Is your doctor going to put you on disability starting Jan. 31 or is that the day you've told your work that you'll be taking maternity leave?

Some people have told me that most doctors will put you on disability the two weeks before your due date and that you can collect some benefits through your employer (if you have short-term disability insurance that is). I need to ask my doctor about that when I see him on Monday.

The thought of working right up until the baby is born EXHAUSTS me to think about----as my back is killing me and I have carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. Which isn't terribly painful but it leaves my fingers dead numb and I'm a primarily a HAND THERAPIST, lol, so it's hard to work w/ people's hands when I can't feel my own!!!!

Hey if you have a myspace add me okay?

Gwendolyn,
I totally hear you! I got spoiled w/things like pineapple, kiwi, spicy foods, tomato sauce during the end of first and the full 2nd trimesters...I am soooo sad I can't eat those things anymore again!!

Hi LeeAnn :)
if that's your real name, that's kind of cool-mine is too (Lianne) and I'm due Feb 24 so I'm just 32 weeks now...you're just a few days after me!
We live in Canada, so it's quite different for our sick leave/mat leave...we can take sickness benefits through the gov't up to 15 weeks prior to our expected due date, we receive 55% of our gross earnings...then once the baby comes, we can begin our 50 weeks of maternity leave, it's the same amt of benefits but under different codes for them to process things...

My GP is wonderful and once I talk to her this week, I don't figure it'll be a problem given how much pain I've been in lately...I'm feeling a bit better today but I don't trust it! :)
it's been so bad lately after I get up and moving around at all, I think it might be time to call it quits for working all day...

I don't have myspace, we use Facebook right now-if you guys have that we can add each other, just PM for details
