The main thing for me is little emphasis on food & restrooms close by...
(And if the food issue comes up & I don't know the guy well, I just say I have a ton of food allergies, which is also true. Everyone these days seems to know someone with food allergies, so it doesn't require the whole weird IC explanation. That can come later..)

Movies are an ok option if your frequency is under control.

I took my boyfriend to one of those "paint your own ceramics" places last week and we had a blast. No pressure to eat or drink anything and always a bathroom =)

hi everyone!

I'm married, but my husband and I have date nights every month. Some things we have done are:

bowling
going to a movie
diner...we get cheese burgers, fries, and root beer floats (or a milkshake)
we live near the beach...so we take walks there on warm days
picnic on the beach-or park (take your own food-so you can control the food so it's IC friendly)
ice skating

Hope this helps with ideas!!

Me and my boy have at home movie marathons!

We'll rearrange the living room with lots of cushions and blankets so it is nice and comfy. Then, we make some IC friendly food (which he willingly eats) and just chill for a whole day watching movies and TV shoes. It is so nice and relaxing and it is a time for us to catch up! Plus, the bathroom is only a few steps away! :)

For dates, I like to go to a burger joint, even though it is not very romantic. I really like going out to eat for a date, and that is pretty much all I can do. Or, I haven't tried a steakhouse yet, but I would definitely give that a try and just ask for no seasonings on it? I really like Kadi's suggestion of saying that I have a ton of food allergies. That is what I struggle with a lot is knowing how much detail to give. I don't want to seem like I'm a picky, huge pain-in-the-butt to date!

Thanks for the topic!

well....if frequency is an issue make an IC safe picnic (make sure to include some kind of meat, as most guys aren't that crazy about just veggie-filled pitas or just-veggie sandwiches, carrot & celery sticks w/ crackers and dip, I have learned, ha!) and go to the beach and stay in the water as much as possible and swim, body surf, tread water, boogie board, what have you, makes for a fun date...most pee in the water, anyway, since RRs on the beach usually aren't very common! lol

Most guys would be thrilled w/ a burger joint...good suggestion, and a lot of burger joints have pool tables, music, are relatively small so the RR close by, casual and comfortable environment...always good esp for first dates...which really don't need to be all that romantic. I think that being comfortable in whatever environment is most important.
But don't let them get spoiled and think you are ALWAYS a cheap date ;)...try that steakhouse soon,:)...I do fine at good steak places if I make sure to ask for just salt and pepper on my steak. A nice restaurant that serves good steaks should have no problem accomodating that....since they should be used to customers wanting their steaks a certain way. I was a fine dining waitress in my former life...and we pretty much cooked to order anything a customer requested. Was expected from our clientele.
Well, I don't consider myself a picky eater, but I have always liked my food fairly plain, particularly w/ the usual American style meal of some kind of meat, steamed veggie, potato/rice. So yeah, I can get kinda picky when I just want a regular meal without any embellishment, even before I had IC.
