Hi all~

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I was in bed most of the day. My tummy and pelvic area hurt to the touch and I can feel the muscles and they hurt. When i press down on the area below my rib cage and all the way down to my pelvic bone it hurts bad! Never had this before. i haven't done anything strenous. i am worried. i have PT this morning and she is gonna have to go really easy on me.

then, my index finger on my right hand won't stop twitching. it will go away for an hour or so and than starts up again.

My hubby's surgery is tomorrow AM. I am very worried about him too. He helps me out so much around the house...don't know how I will manage with him being off his feet for 3 months.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Has anyone had this "tender, very sore tummy"

Mimimama, I hope you start to feel better, I would get that checked out! Especially if you are very sore to touch, could be a muscle but you never know! I never had that, but I had something a little different, it happened 2 times to me so far, its like a pain starts at my pelvic area and shoots up below my rib cage, and does it over and over, its very odd, it started 2 days ago and I had it twice and lasted maybe 15 minutes, felt like a nerve. It was very uncomfortable and hurt. It was also on the right side. You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers! I wish the best for tomorrow and maybe PT can help you in what to do for that pain, but I would call your doc in the meantime just to be safe! Please keep me posted.

I hope everything goes well with hubbys surgery and I will be keeping you both in my thought s and prayers. Sorry you had such a rough day yesterday.
It's sad that we are all so spread apart. Because it is times like this I wish we lived closer so we could be there for each other and lend a helping hand..

Be sure to let your therapist know about the soreness. It might be that you need to see your doctor.

I'll be thinking of you two tomorrow and hope the surgery goes well.

Warm hugs,
Donna

I am hoping that the surgery goes smoothly for your hubby.

Let us know what your PT has to say about that tenderness.

My PT says that I am SO tight everywhere. She thinks that perhaps the deep breathing i've been doing has tightened things up too much because my diaphragm and all the connective tissues aren't used to it. She did some Lymphatic massage and Trigger point stuff. I feel a little better but this has me pretty convinced that I am also battling Fibro. My muscles from my neck down felt like I ran a marathon..they hurt so much! I cannot even put pressure on them..they are so sore!

I need to start doing some gentle stretches and she is sending me to the pool for some water therapy.:woohoo: I am so excited about this. my pain has been a 9 out of 10 the last few days.:bonk: I really thought about going to the ER for a scan and some pain relief but with it being Christmas, I know I would have had to wait forever and it's a toss-up whether you even get any help.

I do have a call into my doctor. i am not sure if they are in today. I waiting to hear back...gotta answering machine.

thanks everyone. i am sure the stress of my hubby and his surgery isn't helping matters.

Yes, stress can do a number on your body.

I too hope all goes well tomorrow. I hope the pain specialist spoke with the surgeon and that is going to control you husband's pain. I am sory you are hurting so much. I think you should talk to your doctor. Since it is so bad and new it could be an infection or a different problem all together. I hope it is not fibro but if it is I hope with some help you will be able to control the pain.

I am so sorry you are hurting. I know the stress of your husband's upcoming surgery is probably hard on you. I will keep you both in my prayers :pray: and please let us know how it goes. Take care and I hope you get well soon.

I was going to say that fibro makes me feel like that. It hurts to be touched and sometimes I'll feel bruised all over, even on my tummy and there is no other reason for my skin to hurt like that....I mean my skin actually hurts. It does sound like you probably have fibro. Maybe you should check with a rheumatologist and get all the other stuff ruled out. They can also dx you with fibro if you have it. I also have myofascial pain syndrome and my muscles tense up and you can actually feel a ropey knot.

I hope you feel better soon!!!

ps....good luck with your husband. I've forgotten what kind of surgery he is having. I have been through 2 major surgeries with Tom in the last 2 years and we made it. You'll get through it, and the things around the house that don't get done just don't get done. Don't stress over it. Do what you can when you can. I know you are stronger than you give yourself credit for. You can do it! pm me if you need a shoulder because I've been there. The hardest part for me was Tom being a big ole grouchy baby...you might remember reading my complaining posts about him. Men don't do pain well! :)

Take care and let us know how things are going!

Hugs, Sandy
