After surgery in August my IC returned with a vengeance. I adhered to the IC diet religiously for 3 months.
I went for my teeth cleaning today (after putting it off since August) and was told that my teeth were in EXCELLENT condition. My gums were almost perfect and I had no plaque. I have never been in that position before.

What we realized was, because of cutting out all acidic foods and sugars, my teeth and gums had improved tremendously, It was great to hear something positive. And I was able to sit there for an hour and not have to run to the loo!!!!

That is great news! I hope my dentist tells me the same thing next month. I have been dreading my next appointment since I know I have another chipped tooth. Actually my meds and the stress of pain has caused havoc on my teeth. I have have required 3 root canals since I was first diagnosed with IC. My dentist thinks I probably grit my teeth during the night, so he made me something to wear at night which I HATE!!!! I haven't had any cavities, just cracks. My former dentist said that I allowed him to retire early due to all the work he has done on my teeth. I had been going to him since I was in the 4th grade and I never had a cavity until I had my 2nd child, then IC hit and the fun began!

I would love to hear after my cleaning, I will see you in 6 months!!!!!

even sometimes when you are drinking bottled water, if the bottled water does not contain enough fluoride it can cause problems with your teeth. I heard that the other day.
