Well, I am finally going to see the cardiologist tomorrow. I am still having problems with my blood pressure going up. I was laying on the couch last night and it just went up to 157/93 for no apparent reason (other than pain)
I feel like I need to get this checked out. I went to the ER with this and they said it was due to the pain of IC. I went through this last year too and then it went back to normal on its own. I am not sure what is going on but if it is due to the pain then I will go back to the pain doctor to see what else is available to help me out with the intense pain. I took a fluid pill today and my blood pressure is still going up and now I have to pee every 5 minutes. Please keep me in your prayers and please pray that the doctor can find out what is causing this and that I can get it under control. I will get on here and post what I find out tomorrow. If anyone has dealt with this please let me know.
Thanks,
Laura

I hope he can help you too. I think you should go see the pain doc if your pain is intence regardless of the BP. I hope you get help with both soon.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I'm sure you'll be able to get it under control like I did with mine, you might just have to find the right combo of meds.

Well I took a nerve pill and it has relaxed me so I have gotten it down to 135/83 so that is better. I am going to tell the doctor that when I go to see him tomorrow. Maybe it is anxiety from the pain?? I just want to find out once and for all.
Thanks everyone for all of your support, concern, and prayers. I feel confindent when I have all of you behind me :hi:
Love,
Laura

Laura,

I do have problems with pain and an increasing heart rate. Some pain pills and combination of pain pills and other IC meds could cause this. So can the anxiety of the pain. I will be very interested in what your doc has to say about it. I will pray that you get some much needed answers tomorrow. Please come back and let us know.

I take a pill called Inderol (Propranolol) for heart palpitations that I've suffered from due to anxiety since I was 14.

Hugs,

Kara:angel:

Well, I do have high blood pressure. It was 170/90 at the doctor's office. They did some blood work and I have to do 2 different 24 hour urine tests. I think they do that to check the protein and how your kidneys are functioning. He also did an EKG and put me on Altace. I have to go back in 4 weeks for a follow-up. He said he is not sure yet why I have high blood pressure but that I needed to treat it. I guess I am lucky that I found out I had it because most people don't realize they have it until it has already caused problems. He said it is called "the silent killer" so I am so thankful for my ringing ears and headaches :) I hope this medication works and I get this under control.
Thanks for all of your support

Hope the meds work. When i developed high bp, mine was sooo high, they gave me a stress test, a 24 hour monitor to wear, ekg, echo, and took pictures with the dye. Thank heavens everything was ok. Sometimes you just get it and no one knows why, so be thankful you found out and are being treated. A normal bp is 120/80 but sometimes they say it is borderline at 140/90--who knows, every doc is different. Good luck and God bless.

Yes, I had all of those tests done last year when I went through the blood pressure thing. I had the nuclear stress test, ekg, electrocardiogram, blood work, cat scan of my lungs, and x-rays. After I got out of the hospital my blood pressure was fine until about 3 weeks ago when it decided to go back up again :loco:
I have heard 3 different doctors say what "normal" blood pressure is:
115/75
120/80
or not over 140/90
So not sure which one is right
I am just hoping this medication gets mine under control. It is not any fun when the top of your head feels like it is going to explode and you hear more ringing in your ears than any bells you have heard before :bonk:
I'll keep you all posted and hopefully I will get my blood pressure back to "normal" whatever that is :hi:

Sending  your way. I have high bp as well but mine is controlled most of the time with Maxzide which has a diuretic in it. I was also getting the headaches and ringing ears. I'm so glad they caught it early and are able to treat it now.

Let us know how you're feeling!

Oh, and thank you for all the support you gave me during my colonoscopy/EGD problems. I REALLY appreciate it!

Feel better! Hugs, Sandy

Well so far so good.....The doctor told me to check my blood pressure in the morning and in the evening and chart it for him. I took it this evening and it was 120/76 :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
I am praying that this medication is the answer and I keep my blood pressure under control.
Thanks again to everyone for your awesome support.
