Hey....IC is hard for sure but sometimes I feel alone -- even on these boards because I have so much else going on...terrible joint pain, neuropathy that covers most of my body, fatigue, headaches, rashes....I have seen many rheumetologist and neurologists that believe everything is autoimmune for me and have diagnosed me with something like...non-specific connective tissue disorder or something. I read a statistic that 30% of people with IC also have Lupus (which the docs think I am headed that way) and yet I feel like I am the only one here....I have seen a lot of posts where people are afraid to take the immunosuppresants which I will be starting in Jan. hopefully and I feel just the opposite. I am sick enough that I THINK (HOPEFULLY) they will be a blessing....
anyone else out there?
Thanks!

I am 23 years old and have just been diagnosed with IC after my hydro this past November. I also have Fibromyalgia and have a strong family history of Lupus. My mother and brother both have it. My mom has Mixed connective tissue, myosiatis and Lupus...which 3 auto immune diseases. My brother has some degnerative bone disease and he is 25 also with MCTD. I have had a lot of symptoms way before I was diagnosed with IC. I've had a possitive ANA since I was 14, which is a sign that my immune system is messed up I think? I dont know, i just know its not good. But I havent been able to follow up since I dont have insurance, but now I have assitance so im going to get it all checked out. I have fatigue, joint pain, a rash on my face and arms, salvary gland problem, headaches, fevers...IBS. I know that IC can come along with other disorders. My URO is referring me to a rheumatologist in January, so hopefully they will find something. Im like a 23 year old trapped in an elderly persons body. But anyways, I hope you dont feel alone on this board. I know that there are other people with Lupus on here, I think on some thread. I hope you start to feeling better soon and feel free to message me anytime. Take care.

I also have concurrent disorders. I have rashes that have begun a few months ago along with a rise in stress. I don't know if it's autoimmune or not. I suspect it could be though.
I have IC, IBS, Fibro, neuropathy, indiscribable joint pain...etc...
