does anyone have pain in the rectum area especally after standing for along period of time? or sitting? It will be none other like I have ever experienced? When I expell gas it hurts in my lower stomach, and my bladder will also hurt w/ this. I will have to lay on my side for relief. It in the past has went away. But I have experienced it ever since Monday night it has been with me all week. I have to take a pain killer to get rid of the pain. I take levsin sl for bladder spasms. That did help it Monday night but it has just stayed w/ me this week for some odd reason. I am just wondering if any of you all have this or do I need to have a colonoscopy? I am going to call my uro and see what he says he tells me it is bladder spasms and I was noticing this morning while it was happing that my vagina was doing something funny also so it could be IC my Gyno dianosed me w/ that Vulyvodia or however you spell that when I went to have my yearly this week so is this and the rectum pain related and NO i don't have hemroids however you spell that. Just wondering if any of you all have this pain?:bonk::rant:

Although most people should have a colonoscopy and you maybe should too I have 2 pains in that area....well at least 2 lol the two that may be going on with you PFD...sort of a tight muscle problem or IBS pressure/gas both are connected.

When it is sort right around the bone I suspect PFD more than anything. So spasms is pretty much what I am suspecting yes. More of a constant tight spasm. I know I would spasm from standing a lot and that sitting long periods is always hard PFD. Hope you feel better soon! :grouphug:

Hello,
I always have pain in rectral area.
I was diagnosed with IC and June and everything down there hurts.
I tried to ask my doctor about this but he didn't know what it was.
I suspect it has to do with IC.
I will ask my new urologist in the new year.
It hurts mostly when I am sitting or standing for a period of time.
It is very sore after a bowel movement.
It's almost like the bones are sore.

I have pain there. It's like a pressure pain that starts near my urethra and travels all the way down to my vagina and my rectum. It seems to be worse if I have been more active that day or usually after work from sitting alot.

I had rectal pain about a year ago, it was horrible, it would not go away. I went to the emergency room one night because it was so bad I could not sleep. I had a colonoscopy years before that pain, now that pain for me was the first I ever had it and I would say it lasted 6 months off and on. The ER did an abdominal cat scan and that was negative. I then went to a gyn and I was concerned because I have a tilted uterus and I was wondering if that was doing it and the gyn said possibly, but didn't really know, so it finally went away. It has never come back and it very well could of been bowel spasms they said also. Or maybe my IC, but I would have it checked out because there are so many things that can cause rectal pain. Good luck!

I have never had pain in the rectum until the last year. It is hard to explain as far as describing it. What does yours feel like. Is it just a slight soreness or raw feeling or what. How would you describe your. I do not have hemmeroids either. It is so uncomfortable. I just want to numb it when it hurts. I did tear giving birth to my last child, but that was 25 years ago. I don't understand why it would take this long to cause problems. I would also like to hear what all of you think, as to what is the cause of this pain.

Hello,
I guess it feels like a fluttering sensation right in the rectum. A butterfly sensation is the only way I can describe it, sometimes it's also like a knife stabbing there.
I had three children and suffered back labour for all three. With my last delivery I did separate my pelvis but that was 11 years ago. I have only started feeling sensitive in the area since I was diagnosed with IC. Pretty coincidental ehh!

Is this what you are feeling?
I know it is so awful to talk about this but it is painful and uncomfortable.

IC along with that hard of a delievery and some other things can definatly cause Pelvic Floor Dysfunction....burning tingling and other nerve pains are often associated with it so I suspect that is what is going on. I don't want to confuse people...this is part of IC and yet also is separate. It is a wise idea to discuss Pelvic Floor Dysfunciton with your doctor and learn about it and what you can do.

I, too, have rectal pain. For me, it is a new thing in the last couple of months. It comes and goes. It is like my rectum is spasming or clamping down really tight. I don't know, it is just really weird. -Vicki

Hey coopsmom! I posted asking others about this too. I have a little bit of pain in that area too and I notice it when I go to sit down and also when I stand. Its a sore feeling. My whole pelvic area has been crampy and Ive noticed the tailbone and butt pain recently.
