I have had weeks and weeks of instills and they don't seem to be working this time around. In 2005-2006 I tried Elmiron and couldn't take it due to my IBS (severe diarrhea, nausea and vomiting). I then went to instills which I did for a couple months and they worked really well. Well the pain came back in August of this year and I have been getting instills since then. My urogyno has referred me to a pain clinic because she says "there's nothing more I can do for you." The pain clinics here all have a waiting list a mile long. I made an appointment last month and was able to get into one on Dec 19th. Great I thought. So Tuesday I had my intake interview which was an hour long phone call about what's going on with me. Now when I made this appointment last month I made sure and asked "Do you accept XXXX insurance." Yes they said. So I get a message when I get home tonight (of course it's Friday and I can't call the office back) that I need to call them asap because there is a problem with my insurance. Are you freaking kidding me?? I asked up front, I had my intake appointment and my appointment with the pain doc is Wednesday and NOW there is a problem with my insurance? If I have start all over and wait another month to get into another pain clinic I'm going to be so ******. I'm in pain. I'm sick of being sick. I'm exhausted in every way. I even have what I think is Shingles now that just came out in the last 2 days. My body is WORN OUT.

Try calling you insurance company and see what the problem is. Maybe you can get it resolved yourself with out the drs office. Sometimes a wrong billing code is entered and cancause major havok. I am sure your ins. co has people available on the weekeds. Maybe your dr( the one that referred you) didn't do something on his behalf. Good luck!

If your insurance is a managed care plan, that could be the problem if they haven't approved the referral yet.

I hope you don't have shingles, but you do need to see your doctor ASAP to find out. If you do, it needs to be treated right away. Did you have chicken pox when you were a child? (That's how we get the shingles virus hanging out in our bodies.)
