For all of you suffering from anxiety, its terrible. I too suffer from it. I have had a lifetime of sickness, not just IC, which I usualy handle. But if anything else happens in my family my anxiety is terrible. I have also tried all the antidepressents but they cause me terrible panic attacks. Probably because I am already anxious. I take xanax, a very low dose, most times .25 once a day, sometimes 1/2 of that. I wean myself off, and than when needed I start again. My urologist and family doctor both prescribe it. I also go to a therapist and have seen a phychiatrist. They do help some. But you have to believe what they tell you. At times I doubt everybody and everything. Having Ic and chronic pain causes most of us anxiety.

Anxiety really can be horrible. I just had my uro prescribe some xanax to me to take before I go to get my nerve blocks. I do get myself worked up because it hurts so much. The only other time I really get anxiety is over speaking with my father. He always dominates the converstation and puts me down. I told my husband that I should get my xanax filled and then take one before I speak with my father, lol.

I do not have anxiety, but lately I have had that nervous feeling in my chest sometimes. It makes me not like anything about my life (my life is great by the way)and I feel nausous and feel like crying. It happens maybe about once a month. I am not sure what I am going to do, cause in 2 weeks me and my girlfriends are going to NYC for New Years. Everyone is a lot more excited than I am. I will be searching for the nearest bathroom wherever we are.
