Ever since I broke my ankle Thanksgiving evening, I have had to be on crutches and I sort of hop around. Needless to say my bladder doesn't really like all this hopping and therefore I find myself going to the bathroom more. It isn't easy at night getting up and having to use crutches. I will be like this for at least four more weeks. I've gone back to taking my Elavil since it seems to help with pain and the need to get up so much at night. I sure will be happy to see all this end and for me to have a true remission.:woohoo:

I hope the 4 weeks goes fast!

When I broke my foot last year, I noticed the issue with the jumping too. So after a week, I did an absolute no-no, but I had no choice. I found an easy way to use my heel so that I could stay balanced with my crutches. I would barely put my foot down. My doctor wasn't happy about it, but there was just no way I could get around with hopping! I was more in danger of breaking something else! I know it's your ankle, so you don't have that luxury!

Isn't it fun getting up and gathering up your crutches to go to the bathroom!

We have a guy that works on the floor below me. He broke his ankle pretty good last weekend. I see his wife drop him off every morning. He said he will be in a cast and boot for at least 3 months.

I don't know if this will help or not but I have a friend who broke her leg and had surgery. She is using a rolling office chair to get around. Not sure if that would help you or not.
Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery :hi:

I used my computer chair in the house when I tore ligaments in my ankle. It really helped a lot.

Oh my, I can only imagine it must irritate your bladder to have to hop all over the place all day long. I think the computer chair on wheels is great for getting around the downstairs or even using it to wheel yourself to the bathroom. I hope the time goes fast until you are healed and won't have to aggrivate your bladder anymore.

I have to use a cane all the time ... I can only imagine how bad it is with crutches! Get well soon!

I broke my foot about 10 years ago, and I had to have crutches as well, but I really couldn't figure out how to use them so I finally gave up after a few weeks, and just hobbled on my other foot. No fun for the bladder. Didn't think about using a chair to get around either. Hope the 4 weeks goes by faster than the 8 weeks did for me! (and if you can, when you get home, egg it on with your husband/boyfriend and let him treat you right!)
