Before I see my new spcecialist tomarrow I have one more question for any one who can help. I have the constant burning in the urethra, pyridium does not stop this, but it also seems to include all surounding area of the urethra. It almost feels like I just had sex, you know, that kind of after burn and ache? I hear alot about other pelvic problems could this be something different than IC? As always, I confer to the pros here for answers.

I've heard that some people had much improvement in their burning when they went to PT for PFD. So perhaps it is the PFD where the muscles are so tight they are causing urethral pain and burning? I know I have PFD, endo, and IC and though I don't always having that burning I def do get it. Hope you get some answers at your appointment.

I hope you find the answers. I was checked for PFD last summer, when I started having problems with burning and major retention again, and like I have read on here about PFD, my doctor said that we all have some degree of PFD, but he didnt' feel mine was very bad at all. Luckily I had quit straining to empty a long time ago, or I am sure I would have problems with it now. Dr. Ragi and my PT helped with making myself not strain. Last summer when my symptoms of the burning seemed to really increase. I called it "peeing shards of glass". I used to have similar feelings with it after sex, but not to that extent. Prosed DS is what was the magic med for me. Its alot like Pyridium. I couldn't take Prydium because it made me so sick to stomach. My pee is blue instead of orange, and it's more expensive, but it definitely has taken away all my symptoms of that pain.

It' not quite Tarheel blue! Definitely better than Tennessee Orange. My husband says thats really why I get so sick to my stomach! LOL!

realy? i was thinking more like pumpkin orange with a hint of burnt umber. the other nite i forgot to flush the toilet, my 16 yr got up to use the bathroom the next morning and after peeing noticed the color in the toilet...i wish i could have seen her face!!! she thought it came from her and was scared to death! Then she remembered me complaining about my pee being orange.

ahaaaa...the joys of one bathroom!
