all these symptoms started 8 months ago after around of antibiotics. and i am desperate for help. The doctors are at a loss. I am ready to go to the mayo clinic or shands. I am desperate. Please help.

Nearly 8 months ago I began have abdominal pain that has gotten alot better but still having symptoms of what doctors say is ibs. Around this type I started having groin pain all down the left side into my testicles and penis. I have this feeling of pressure on the left side of my bladder that is often tender to the touch. My groin pain is at varying degrees and sometimes I have this deep internal itch on the left side of my bladder. My groin pain and abdominal pain is worse when my bladder gets full especially in the morning but I am not having frequency. Also the pain seems to be much worse after sitting. At first they said possible prostatis but never found inflamation or an infection. still i took about 6 months of strong antibiotics which did nothing. It feels like the groin pain radiates from the bladder at times but I can't be sure. Is it normal to have this pain confined to one side of the bladder. The doctors are at a loss and say they have no idea. one urologist did suggest having a cytoscopy but i didn't do it. I have already had a colonoscopy, ct scan, xrays, bloodwork and mri. the mri should i slight herniated disc but no one really thinks its causing any symptoms. I am only 21 and all of these symptoms came on suddenly 8 months ago and have not left.

So sorry you're going through this! It's so difficult not to know what's going on. I don't have the answers to most of your questions, but I did want to say that I also have similar symptoms, the itch you describe is exactly what I feel, very deep inside. I also only have pain on one side, but sometimes radiates to the other if bad enough. Many people say that their pain gets worse after sitting, and mine certainly does.

One of the newer tests they are using is called the anesthetic bladder challenge (ABC) where they administer alkalinized lidocaine through a catheter into your bladder. If the pain subsides, then it provides "empirical evidence that the bladder is the site of origin of the pain." This is at least a less painful and quick way to find out if the pain is coming from your bladder. You will probably be referred for more testing after that. I would suggest researching it and then looking on this site for doctors that specialize in IC in your area. I hope you find some answers and relief soon!

My suggestion is to see a urologist and ask about testing for IC.
