I've had my bladder stretched 6 times, 4 times was years ago that never helped me at all and the other 2 was recent. I had bladder strectched to 7 ounces under anesthesia about 3 months ago, didn't help at all! I had one done couple of days ago that didn't help at all, but the one done a couple of days ago was by a different uro that told me he stretched it to 18 ounces under anesthesia! I don't understand the different numbers!!!! The nurse told me that my bladder should be able to hold 18 ounces that i shouldn't go every minute of the day like i do!!! Wonder why stretching bladder does not help at all for some people????? Doesn't matter what the number says my bladder is stretched to i still pee every 30 seconds of the day and if i hold it more than 5 minutes i get a really strong- urgency-hurting feeling that goes away when i urinate!!!!! I know noone here is a doc but i have a really complicated problem that doc's are not sure about and i am having bladder augmentation Dec. 27th to c if that works for my urgency/frequency feelings i have 24/7 that i've had this problem for 9 years but has gotten really bad this last year!!!!!! If bladder augmentation doesn't work i will have bladder removal!!!!! My uro that i seen b4 this one told me bladder augmentation prolly wouldn't work for me that i'd need bladder removal to fix my very strong urgency/ frequency feelings i have 24/7!!!!!!!!! But the uro i am now seeing wants to try bladder augmentation first!!!!!!! I don't know what to believe!!!!!!!! Any advice?????? Anybody know someone that's had bladder augmentation for urgency/frequency and that stretching bladder to 18 ounces did not help???????? It makes me think that bladder augmentation won't work for me if stretching my bladder to 18 ounces dont' work????????????????????????????
Thanks for any advice!!!!!!!!!!

If you had the procedure done only a few days ago, it's not possible to know yet whether it will help. It takes me several days to recover from a hydro.

It can take up to 4 to 6 weeks for it to work. Research the bladder removal, most doctors won't do that until nothing eles works. Are you on any meds to help you??

I understand how you feel. I had the hydo done about 5 weeks and I feel worst then before. I am slowly losing hope that it is going to work. I am seeing a Interventional pain management doctor on tuesday and I hope maybe they can help me I also have spondylosis in my lower spine. Which just adds more pain to me and so far I haven't found anyone to be understanding of my pain. All I can do is pray that things will get better. I take one day at a time, that is all I can do. I sometimes think what did I do to get IC. Was it because I had 4 kids close together including a set of twins. I am young and have thyroid problems, endo, spondylosis, and allergy problems. I hope you get some relief soon.

I would really reccommend exploring the option of rescue instillations if you haven't tried that. I had the frequency issue most severely as well....I"ll keep you in my thoughts!
