Hello,
I am sending a sample to United this morning! Quick question and I can't get a hold of Ruth.... should I have yeast and ureaplasma tested as well? There's a section to check those (in addition to urine broth culture), but they would be an extra $200 or so. Advice?

Thanks.

Even if you don't request the yeast test, United Medical will still let you know if your urine is positive for yeast. That is basically all they will tell you though if you JUST request a urine broth culture. If you request the test for yeast they will also do a culture and sensitivity to identify the type/species and the drugs that you can use to treat it. If you are pretty sure yeast is a problem for you, this might be a good idea. Otherwise, I would stick to the other test and see if it even shows yeast first. That's what I did...
