Does anyone know of a filter that will make our City water comfortable for IC? The prices of store bought water is ridiculous! I used it for everything such as soup or any kind of cooking plus Roma (coffee like drink). Sorry if this question has been posted before. I didn't catch it. Ziggy

ziggy,
have you tried a brita water pitcher or pur water filters? we use brita filters (and buy the refills at costco) and it works pretty well.

We installed a dual-filtration system under the kitchen sink (one side is carbon filtration). It was expensive to buy and difficult to install, but definitely a big savings in the long run. I don't remember the details, but I'm sure that my husband will. If you'd like me to track it down, just PM me.

I use filtered water through my fridge door. I add alkalife drops to it to make it more alkaline. They usually block out websites, but I buy the drops at alkalife.com. If they blur the website feel free to pm me.

Is regular filtered water not good enough? I was just diagnosed with IC so I'm curious. I've had filtration systems on our drinking water for over 10 years. Is there something in particular I should double check to make our filter gets it out?

Thanks

Kat

I have the Brita pitcher and the filter for my faucet, however, the replacement filters are expensive! I'm thinking about removing my filter on the faucet because it gets in the way but I love my Brita pitcher for the convenience of being able to use tap water.

I use filtered water from my fridge as well and was buying bottled water to take to work. My dr gave me a hard time about the money I was wasting for bottled water and recommended nalgeen bottles. I bought 2 1 liter size ones and it was about $17 for the two at llbean and they have free shipping right now. I have had the same filter in my fridge since I bought it 4 years ago and the indicator on the fridge still says it's good after all this time. I'm going to save at least $15 a month using the water from the fridge and taking it with me instead of buying the bottled stuff. My new dr specifically says that I should not be drinking tap water.

My son just recently put some kind of filter on their water supply in the city and they are happy with it. I don't know what kind it is, but if you do a little research you should be able to find one. Their water supply was strong clorine and they say they can't taste or smell it any more. I know it cost but in the long run will be a savings for them.
