Hi,
I'm new. I was wondering if anyone gets what looks like small, red sores around the opening of the urethra? There are a few more around the area, but not only is the pain inside,(it feels like it is located where the bladder and urethra attach) but the outside is tender too. I am still trying to figure out my foods. I was feeling better until I started drinking whey and then the frequency and urgency and urethral pain started all over again and it is taking longer to quiet things down. I also have Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome/Disautonomia, and low blood sugar drops usually during the night when I have to eat. If I don't wake in time, the excess adrenaline creates panic attacks. Many meds cause anxiety. I can't handle antibiotics, and am very hesitant about taking anything. I have always been allergic to foods and pets, pollen, grass. I know I have had vulvodynia for many years, and the strange sensation of feeling the clitoris area is swollen, but I never knew what it was until I found this site. I am 52 years old, the mother of 7 and grandmother of 6. Well, that's a bit of an intro. I just haven't seen anyone experience what appears to be sores and so I thought I'd ask.
Thank you.

Hello,
I too have VV with terrible urethral pain but no sores. I have been cultured extensively with all tests coming back negative - no infections or bateria or anything! There is no reason for this pain!!! One treatment that I have tried was going on one week of mupiricin (it is an antibiotic ointment - my doctor calls it neosporine on steriods!) and then followed by several weeks of chromolyn cream. Chromolyn is a steriod based anti-inflammitory cream - has helped calmed down my VV. It's not all the way gone, but my skin down there looks much better since using it. You should have your doctor check for any types of bateria and of course all the STD's need to be ruled out. You might be able to ask about the above treatments I mentioned. Hope this helps. Also, I was given valium suppositories (vaginal) to use at bedtime to help with urethral pain. For some reason it doesn't help with the urethral pain, but I was having terrible hip pain on just my left side, and it went away using these!!!
